We checked out the Wednesday steak night. It was fabulous! if you like good steak, superbly cooked and well presented, then I couldn't recommend this place more highly. It's a lot of food for 2 people and would probably work better with 3 or 4 people. Wonderful! Service: 4 Location: 4

The pub is nice, the rooms are big and bed is comfortable. We also enjoyed the breakfast. However I'm giving 4 stars because the toilet in the room wasn't properly cleaned and as a woman I can easily notice that kind of things. Went for Sunday lunch to round off a short break in the area. A country pub lives dies on its Sunday lunches this one died a death. Roast potatoes where old too hard to cut into beef was too tough to chew. Given a slight discount for the disappointing meal but the damage was done we left feeling dejected.

We wanted a quiet country pub did a lunch menu and were dog friendly ,and the Hawkebury gave us a warm friendly welcome on a cold Saturday afternoon. They had a good selection on the menu .We visted last year for Sunday lunch when it was very busy and booking was necessary.Situated between Staplehurst and Headcorn and Sutton Valence. We had a wonderful stay at the Hawkenbury Inn with our dog Barney. The pub truly is dog friendly! Offers very good value for money. Jonathan and Alison are super hosts who run a great pub. Lovely locals too! Home cooked food, a hearty breakfast and spacious, clean accommodation with the benefit of outside space. Beds were very comfortable. Piping hot water and very good pressure. Plenty of parking too for our camper van. A convenient base to explore the Weald of Kent. Definitely recommend staying here. Rooms: Clean and spacious. Very comfortable beds.
