"Visited here on fri at tea time. Was taken aback by how empty the place was. We choose a table sat down. Went to order at the bar one of our party wanted onion rings for a starter but was told there wasn't any. So we changed tgat order to a prawn cocktail. Starters came and all went downhill from there. Tomatoe soup tasted like a cup a soup the baguette was barely cooked. The prawn cocktail had about 6 pieces of lettuce with a few prawns on top plonked in a soup bowl no bread nothing. Then came our mains. The fish had it's tartar sauce missing and the dried up bit of steak didn't come with the sauce I ordered as we were telling the waiter she walked off mid conversation. Then a man came asked us what we was missing he too didn't have anything to say no apology nothing so we had to wait a good 5mins for the missing items and a steak knife. Also we were told to get our own cutlery from some pots on a station. Believe it or not but guess what came on the plate with the steak...... Onion rings! My mother in law didn't even touch her chicken bacon salad as we had all had enough by then. Not one member of staff came over to check if we were happy although they could of as one was just leisurely sat on the end of the bar. Really really poor won't be visiting again"

Decided to visit High Orchard following a very busy morning in Gloucester city for Retro Day. Excellent friendly staff, great fish and chips. Dog friendly and bonus as no longer car parking charges apply. Good luck to Lee, Vicky, Chelsea and team

Despite the pub being fairly empty, it took 40 minutes for our 2 burgers and chips to arrive. One of the burgers was badly burnt and only came with about 8 chips. When we brought this to the attention of the staff, we were met with a shrug and a lackluster apology. Speisekarte ansehen

We visited this restaurant for Sunday lunch with our family and brought our dog along. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us, providing water and some leftover scraps from the carvery for our dog. Despite the fact that our 55kg dog ended up sitting on the waitress' lap, the experience was lovely.

The staff were exemplary. Scot both seat and took our order. He was well mannered, friendly and efficient. However, we must mention Shaun the manager. Whilst we were there a gentleman at a different table started to choke. Shaun was called and immediately took over. He attended to the gentleman and even though he managed to get the gentleman breathing he was not satisfied and had an ambulance called. He stayed with the family. Keeping everyone calm. The way he managed the situation was a joy to behold and if you have an award for the best member of staff (ever), please award it to him. Speisekarte ansehen

Once again I would like to sing the praises of the pub. My family and I have visited several times over the last twelve month. The latest visit was 10th September with a double purpose. Firstly it was my youngest granddaughters 17 th birthday, the other reason was the first anniversary of the death of my wife. For this visit there were ten of us, me. My son and his partner, my two daughters, two grand children and my great grandson, along with a nephew. The service was excellent from start to finish. The meals were well presented warm and tasty. The attitude of the staff was friendly and professional through our, we were made very welcome, and nothing was to much for them. We have always had...

"The Cavern in Gloucester is one of a kind. To a lot of people just passing by it is a very pleasant social cafe with reasonably priced food and non-alcoholic drink. The reality is that The Cavern is so much more than that. This is a place that is non-judgemental and focuses on inclusion for everyone. It has a lot of regular attendees including myself, many of which have mental health issues and/or some form of disability. The staff here (who are absolutely amazing) have a varied and wide understanding of mental health and what makes this place unique is that anyone can attend in the evening to talk to a member of staff about any issues in an informal and discrete way. Whilst staff are available anytime during the day there is a designated support area in the evenings which anyone can make use of. There are also various activities which The Cavern put on including an informal karaoke on a Sunday evening with mixed abilities of singers taking part. You don 't have to be a good singer as you will not be judged, it 's all about taking part. The Cavern has had a couple of bad reviews where it has been pointed out that there has been drug use and anti-social behaviour. Some of which may be true, however please bear in mind that some people who attend The Cavern may have mental health issues and conditions that may not be physically visible. The Cavern does not judge and is open to everyone. If The Cavern wasn 't so inclusive, then where would these people go? On the streets being Antisocial ? Getting involved in criminal activity? The safe space that The Cavern provides encourages people to attend and seek advice and support from a friendly staff team as well as other regular attendees who feel that The Cavern has a real family feel to it. Drug use is strictly prohibited and is challenged immediately. Whilst I accept that The Cavern may not run smoothly 100% of the time, I also know that the staff do everything that they can to support everyone who needs it. They are all very approachable and have the respect of people who feel able to open up to them about their problems and struggles. The Cavern is a safe space for everyone and if it was to ever close then Gloucester would lose a very valuable asset to the city."
