"we enjoyed another very pleasant dinner at the Dog’ in pentrich recently. it is a very civilized but relaxed escaping area, and the type of place where people are miles for, for the culinary experience traveling and with good ground. eating is good. the dining room is spacious, contemporary and beautifully furnished with a relaxed ambiente. also the adjacent bar area is very cozy and cozy. we were warmly welcomed and immediately shown on our table. the service was attentive and pleasant, without being overlaid or intrusive. our meals were very pleasant and we enjoyed the selection of things we had (start, head and dessert). However, it seemed to be some unconsistencies with a portion size. with the appetizers the leek and the potato portion was very small a piece laek about two centimeters long filled with cheese and in a sea of sauce to convey the grasp of “more”. the crispy szechuan cauliflower and aubergine, on the other hand, contained large parts of the two components of the teller. similar to the net, the green thai chicken contained three very large portions of huh in different shapes: a large chicken breast as the main component of the Thai chicken shell, accompanied by a huge serving of shredded chicken in rice, and a huge Bao beer filled with a large piece of baked chicken. while the various components were delicious, it was just chicken overload, almost like three main dishes as one, and much too much. the same applies to the puddings we have chosen. the dog inn trifle was a huge bowl with lemon-rossel sponge, with white chocolate-creuzard, and celestial gel and sorbet. the yorkshire rhubarb cheesecake, on the other hand, was a very small roll of cheesecake with a puppy game of rhubarb sorbet and a few pieces of poached rhubarb. our meals were certainly delicious, and we enjoyed them. the hanger steak was cooked nicely after a discussion about it; it was clearly stated on the menu that the hanger steak was ‘Served ‘Pink or well Done’, but we were informed that it could not be ordered well. which condition is then on the menu? the dog is worth looking. it is in the beautiful and historical village pentrich, on the b1016 between the towns ripley and alfreton in derbyshire. we're coming back."

"A Lovely All You Can Eat freshly cooked Sunday Lunch. The Starters were excellent, we had Chicken and Sweetcorn Soup, Ribs, Yuk Sung, Chicken Satay, Won Ton and Vegetable Spring Rolls. Mains Mongolian Lamb, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Egg , Special Fried Rice and Chips. Ice Cream to Finish Sparkling Water and a Cola for Drinks Everything Piping Hot, Good Quality, Attentive Service. The Bill came to £18-00 each, which seemed like Good Value to me. Definitely be calling again."

"I visited the School House Restaurant on Sunday, April 29, with my little child, and I had an amazing Sunday dinner! When we arrived at our table, there was a high chair ready for my son. The menu was clearly displayed on a board in the restaurant, offering an excellent selection of appetizers, main courses, and desserts. I was delighted by the choices, as everything sounded fantastic! I opted for a three-course meal for just £18.95. I enjoyed a classic prawn cocktail, a pork dinner, and a wavy caramel cheesecake. All the ingredients were high quality and expertly cooked. Even my 16-month-old son loved it, especially the cheesecake! The staff was friendly, the service was great, and the meal was a wonderful value for the price. I will definitely be back soon! Thank you for a fantastic dining experience."

"What a find! Great little (it is a bit cosy) Indian restaurant. Don't be put off by the location, the actual food is amazing. We were staying locally, hadn't booked, but were able to get a last minute table. We had a bit of a wait for the food, but gosh it was worth it! My husband had a lamb curry and said it was probably the best lamb curry he has ever had. My chicken makhani was superb, succulent and plenty of chicken breast. Our garlic and coriander naan was huge, hot and very tasty, as were my onion bhajis. We will definitely be back!"

"Waited 1.5 hrs for our main. When asked where it was, the waiter was very rude and obnoxious. We asked for more popidoms and were clearly told NO waiter assumed we were asking for free one but we were simply asking for more (paid) popidoms as we were hungry. Waitress was clearing plates before people had finished and when we pointed out certain people were still eating, she waited by their side until they had. First rule of waitressing is you never clear plates until everyone has finished. Its extremely rude! *No napkins on the table at all. *Never asked us how our food was. *Meat was very chewy and fatty. *Thick skin on all our curries, suggesting it had been sat there for some time. *Food was bland. *When we complained waiter again was very rude. *Overall very average!"
