Just when I thought the level of food couldn’t get any higher, it did. Fantastic meal… I invited some friends who also loved the experience and are both true foodies. 10/10 and will be back very soon

41 CLUB held their Ladies night for 34 and all complimented the event saying the food was excellent service was efficient and friendly and the room was set up with the festive theme which gave a great atmosphere Our host was informative and every thing was kept to time. We visited this pub with friends and our dogs for Sunday lunch and because the weather was so excellent we sat in the gorgeous garden of the pub. The roast beef and Yorkshire pudding was absolutely superb with the beef melting in your mouth. The desserts were excellent as was the wonderfully charming service from Diana. I could not recommend this pub more particularly after a lovely walk with our dogs in Penn Wood.

Went for dinner last Friday and they very kindly put a television on for us to watch the England game in the rugby world cup, which was beyond the call of duty! A few people did watch it but more people would have been a better atmosphere. The pub was generally very quiet for a Friday night, which was odd. However the food was absolutely delicious and I will definitely be going back. The Duck breast spring roll main course was very good and we had an amazing chocolate desert.

Was craving a roast phoned on the day and got a table for two. Great to see the pub thriving and doing so well. Staff are busy and all kept on ball. We shared a Foccacia Baba Ghanoush starter, this is a great dish guys please keep it on the menu! The bread was fantastic. My Veg Wellington went down a treat, a Yorkshire too that wasn’t all crisp it had some batter to it. Thoroughly enjoyed. All I would say is….. a little bit more cauli cheese and veg wouldn’t “go a miss” other than that… back soon! Keep it up! Speisekarte ansehen

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious Sunday roast beef sitting outside in this very pretty picturesque pub garden with all the trimmings we particularly liked the extra vegetables option on the menu with no extra charge as we do like a lot of veg on the side!! The beef was extremely tender and our overall experience was relaxed and enjoyable, the staff were very welcoming, polite and provided a good service. A huge improvement from last year which was so nice as this is a delightful pub full of character, we will definitely return.

There was a good choice on the menu.The food was excellent:well cooked and well presented and hot. The service was also impeccable:friendly and efficient. The Hit or Miss has the perfect setting for a country pub:lovely location and the advantage of easy parking.Comfortable inside with good spacing of tables allowing one actually to hear the conversation of dining companions! The pub has a lovely rural setting yet is only a short drive from Amersham. Overall a classic English pub with good food and in a super rural setting. As a regular patron of Pubs in the Chilterns over many years,I would say the Hit or Miss deserves a top billing.

The evening started off well, my wife and I had starters from the snacks menu, very tasty and good portion size. Washed down with a pint of Badger’s Tanglefoot beer. We had the tenderloin pork mains, I had four pieces of meat whilst my wife had two, to be fair it was tasty but not worth the price tag. Food served lukewarm. Whilst eating our starters a server offered other customers options available on the specials and variations on the normal menu. As this establishment is in a village it appears that the other customers were local familiar with how this business works. We cut our losses without having a sweet course.
