Nice sunny day so a walk around the Forest park was in order. The cafe is always a welcome stop for cake and coffee but can you get a less bitter coffee please?

Visited yesterday and was appalled at the price of a piece of cake. £4.25 . Not very big either. How can they justify prices like that? Not very comfortable seating as well. Who wants to sit on pallets and eat off a pallet table? Won't be returning.

Cookies cakes *massively* overpriced £3-5 for a slice). No prices for cookies/cakes displayed anywhere no clear info given when asked. We kindly advised displaying prices is a legal requirement, which was met with blatant hostility they clearly didn’t care. Will be letting Nottm Trading Standards know.

Visited here today with a friend and we were instantly greeted by a very rude waiter; unwelcoming with no social skills. The staff looked lazy and bored, sat moping around and took ages to bring over our coffee and cake. The waitress that brought over the food was very blunt and made no effort to check everything was okay or ask if there was anything we needed. The lack of manners amongst all employees was very apparent and quite embarrassing.

When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother sausage roll comes to me. In times of pandemic what better way of spicing up an otherwise anodyne epoch than the glory of sausage meat gently sleeping upon a bed of crisp delicious pastry. Sleeping comes easy to me but to those it does not I’d heartily recommend to lay upon a bed of millefeuille or rough puff and sleep the sleep of a beauty. I served mine with homemade chickpeas a la Heinz 58 and oh how I rejoiced in the gospel of moist meat perfect seasoning and flaky flavourful pastry. Myself, my partner and our 2 year old visited here, we have visited the main cafe in Nottingham city centre before as a couple and enjoyed it but today found who I believed to be the manager unbelievably rude, so much so that we immediately left. I couldn 't believe that when I asked to speak to a manager it was the member of staff who had treated us the way she had. My son is relatively well behaved and I am aware that not everybody wants tp be around children so I am considerate of others when we are out and about. The board outside advertised the cafe as family friendly and offered toys. He sat quietly putting the pieces in the game and taking them out again on the floor next to my chair...
