"The first time in my life that I leave a bad review. We had to move our seats after sitting because there were 7 8 big flies sitting on the window. The food was okay. We had tasting menu. Wild boar ragu pasta not sure what to say. My husband's court had so much fluid after he was done while mine wasn't. Beef stew had too many peppercorns, but maybe it's just not my style. The worst part was service. Our server (not all with glasses, didn't know the name because he never introduced himself with his name) has never checked us ONCE. No one asked us how our court/how was our dinner. My wine glass was empty after my pasta court no one came to see if I wanted the second glass. Overall the place was beautiful with great views. But I was disappointed and will never come back."

"We first visited Restaurant Casalta more than 20 years ago as a young couple on the cusp of getting married in Firenze. We ate there practically every day the food was so delicious. Last month we returned with our daughters, 17 15, two decades later the food was as consistent as it ever was really excellent Italian food cooked fresh and with great service to match. Maria’s ravioli with porcini mushrooms and truffles were as delicious as i remembered them. She really is an amazing cook and would rival any food you’d eat at the likes of The Ivy (it’s seriously that good). Giulia, with her beautiful smile and excellent English, was 16 when we last saw her she’s now 36 and in charge of the restaurant, which is always full of locals Italian families, as well as visitors to the area like us. The family sell their own gorgeous Casalta wine and olive oil. I highly recommend both and they are available to buy so we brought some home to England with us! Twenty years on since first dining here it’s clear the family take pride in the dishes they cook and serve. Thank you again for your wonderful hospitality!"

"Sometimes good things happen by sheer accident and lucky you are if it should come your way. And so am grateful for this eventful day when we found ourselves in need of making a pit stop while we were in Tuscany. And it was in San Casciano, a beautiful little village with some ancient ruins and kind people. We were anxious for a good cup of coffee and chose this bright and fun looking caffé called Blu Bar Bistrot. And we enjoyed some of the best served cappuccinos we have ever tried. And that is not an exaggeration. Two of the most cheerful and professional and kind people who own this caffé are a joy to be around. Luisa and Luca and what a couple. So inviting and so informative. Maybe they should call their hangout L&L Amore Caffé, because when you sit on their patio you feel Dean Martin singing That’s Amore!"
