"then there is a story to tell. I appreciate that the food turns out greedy and the room staff as well, but there is a but! I ordered a first and a second (a pasta and a steak without ordering a contour. the waitress came to the table with a steak and a portion of chicory, claiming to find nice the idea of combining it with meat. I thank you for the attention, but I suppose they offered it to them since I ordered it. I arrive at the cashier to pay the bill and here is the surprise that I am on reception 4 euro chicory! so I highly recommend to the restaurateurs that if you want to bring extra portions to the table not to charge them, since the customer had not ordered them!"

"Was there for pranzo on Mother’s Day. 1 pm reservation, which is normally when restaurants begin serving pranzo. I was shocked to see that the restaurant was, at that hour, almost full, and and people were already through their pasta course! So, make reservations! The food was creative, traditional. 4 of us shared 2 orders of their signature mixed antipasto plate. It was more than enough! Tried to get the recipe for their onion marmalade, but could only get the very knowledgeable waiter to tell us it was red onions, cooked in red wine for 6 hours with a bit of sugar, but could not get the rest of the “secret ingredients” from him. The only thing I did not like was a spicy fontina-type cheese, but everything else was excellent. 3 of us had pasta courses: e dishes were a fresh tomato sauce with ground pork and almonds over “strozza prete” pasta — a hand rolled pasta made with flour and water. The other pasta was fettucine with artichokes — it was all good. Another person had a steak, rare, with potatoes. Desserts were home- made and delicious! Creme Catalan (what we call creme brulee), a semi-freddo with amaretti and rum, and tiramisu. Dinner was €116, which I feel is reasonable considering location and quality of food."

"Ristorante a Sermoneta, in provincia di Latina. Abbiamo ordinato due taglieri (18 euro cadauno) che avrebbero dovuto sfamare, a detta dei camerieri, quattro persone, ma erano un po ' poverini e forse bastavano per appena tre persone affamate. Menzione d 'onore per la ricottina, molto buona, quasi zuccherina. Il resto, invece, nella media dei taglieri da trattoria alla buona, ovvero salumi e formaggi di qualità scarsa ma accettabile (leggasi: né più né meno di quello che potreste trovare in un discount). Come primo ho ordinato una pasta pistacchiosa , arrivata dopo una buona oretta di attesa (sorvoliamo sul fatto che siano stati serviti prima clienti arrivati dopo di noi). Il menu recitava pesto di pistacchio, pomodorini, guanciale croccante e cipolle di tropea . A me è arrivata una pasta giallastra untuosissima (galleggiava su almeno due cucchiai d 'olio) con della granella di pistacchio, nessun pesto di pistacchio visibile o palatabile e una svalangata di cipolle afflosciate nell 'olio di cui sopra, il tutto attorniato da qualche pomodorino tagliato così, a metà, un po ' senza senso (forse aggiunto per allungare il brodo della descrizione del piatto) e quasi sicuramente buttato in padella a cottura ultimata della pasta. Ancora latitante il guanciale croccante. È chiaro che non è stato fatto né utilizzato alcun pesto di pistacchio, pertanto il piatto non rispetta nemmeno quanto descritto nel menu e la votazione che do è conseguente soprattutto a ciò. E pensare che avevo scelto il piatto fidandomi di alcuni piatti belli verdognoli che vedevo serviti ad altri tavoli. I camerieri sono giovani e gentili, ma le portate non sono state sincronizzate, né per i primi, né per i dolci, lasciando qualche imbarazzo per l 'attesa. Piccola disavventura: abbiamo mangiato all 'aperto sotto gli ombrelloni. Per un momento è stato ritenuto necessario chiuderli, perché si stava alzando il vento. Indi, ci siamo alzati e abbiamo assistito alla chiusura degli ombrelloni. Se non bastasse, il vento ha scemato poco dopo e il sole d 'agosto è tornato rovente più che mai dopo pochi minuti. Il complicato meccanismo di apertura degli ombrelloni ha dissuaso i camerieri dal riaprirli, lasciandoci così rosolare a fuoco lento per il resto della mattinata. Alcuni commensali si sono dovuti riparare per gran parte del pranzo sotto l 'ombra, sedendosi su una panchina che si trovava lì vicina al nostro tavolo."

"quando si va in giro, tappa importante è: assaporare le specialità locali. a Bassiano, in via aldo manuzio, c'è un negozio che è anche osteria, in cui per ottenere le specialità dierse di questa zona nella provincia di latina. eccellente mozzarella di latte di bufalo, ma sono soprattutto le carni per lasciare il segno e per soddisfare il palato. tra loro, il famoso prosciutto basso, che ha una doppia versione, tradizionale, più saporito, e affumicato con legno di faggio (soprattutto). entrambi devono essere mangiati con avidi fettine spesse, tagliate con il coltello e non la fette. Quindi tutto il sapore è afferrare bene, forse con un pane fatto in casa cucinato nella zona. la peculiarità del prosciutto basso è il fatto che è prodotto qui, alto circa 650 metri, in modo da assorbire i venti del nord. Inoltre, la sua maturazione non dovrebbe essere inferiore a 12 mesi. Fantastico!"

"The restaurant is situated outside the township of Bassiano (Latina). There is plenty of off street parking. On arriving there is an outdoor foyer which leads into the restaurant proper with glimpses of the food preparation areas. The restaurant is filled with natural light with large windows. The main floor is opened planned and is well spaced between tables. The food was fantastic and dishes were varied and delicious and the staff were helpful and accommodating. If you are travelling in the area, make sure to visit Il Castagno I am sure you will enjoy the experience"
