Although lacking the glitz of some of its larger, nearby neighbours, if it is quality and choice of food you are after, this is the best in the area.

I visited this restaurant with a small group of friends and we were provided with a lovely selection of food. The dishes were very tasty and full of flavor. The staff was extremely friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant - you must give it a try.

Second time here for a tandoori mixed grill. Husband had the tandoori cocktail and I had the essence special mixed grill..both had a huge portion of tandoori chicken, which was more like half a chicken, five pieces of chicken tikka and the same again of lamb tikka Speisekarte ansehen

I know it was 12.15am when we went here but we were told they were still open. No sooner was our started served the waiter informed us that they were waiting to close,he constantly came to our table making us feel that we had to rush our meal. If they were closing they should have said before we sat down. Shame we had had a great night till then

Always used indian essence for a take away curry with little trouble over the years however, two weeks ago we had a takeaway delivered with mint sauce that was well past its best. The sauce was poured over the starters before we realised it was inedible, called indian essence and spoke to olly who was more than helpfull and offered us the choice of fresh starters delivered or discount from next order, we decided to accept the discount. Ordered tonight and were told we would not pay full price, upon delivery, we had 50p discounted from the price! Quite an insulting offer for loyal customers! We would have been happy with the price of the starters discounted from the total cost.

We decided to try Indian Essence after our regular restaurant was fully booked. However, we immediately regretted our decision upon walking in as there was a strong smell of damp. We both ordered the £9.99 special on a Saturday and waited 25 minutes for our starters, even though there were only two other occupied tables. My onion bhaji was tasteless and soggy, while my husband enjoyed his chicken on purée starter. Our main meals arrived quickly. My chicken dansak was tasty but had grizzly bits of chicken, which was unpleasant. Additionally, my mushroom pilau rice had black and soggy mushrooms.
