"Regrettably we have to agree with some of the other reviewers on here that the milkshake is very poor especially the millionaire milkshake. Does have a Nesquick vibe to it, not really ice cream as advertised. Chips were nice. And the cheese dog was good too also a lot of it. We had the club sandwich as well and that was pretty good. Not much for the salad though. Overall it’s nice decor, very friendly service, food was good but lacklustre milkshake think we speak for a lot of reviewers on here if the poor milkshake can be addressed."

The Street Diner in Okehampton is a really funky place. Went for brunch, the service was excellent and had fantastic food!

Waited over half an hour for two hot dogs a cheese toasty, scampi and an omelette. Three tables got their order in just before us. So be warned if you are in a hurry. Other than that, the food was as expected for a diner.

What a great place, food was sooo nice, we had steak baguette, salad and chips, really tasty, loads of it and just under £8.00. Service was great, nice and friendly. Nice atmosphere with the 60s music. Definitely worth a visit.

the interior could do with a refresh, but the retro American diner concept is is fun! I've been a few time for breakfast and once for a burger. All meals were good! at the risk of sounding rude I was really pleasantly surprised how good it was.

We came across this on a snowy day in Okehampton. On entering you do step into a true American diner with a jukebox to boot. The food is very reasonably priced and of a very good standard. In particular the breakfast is very well cooked and hot! Also the latte was as good as the main high street brands. This is off the man shopping area but well worth visiting.

Me and my wife went to J Street Cafe (as we call it) today for lunch after it has been closed for a while due to covid. We both had the chicago Chicken and Bacon baguette and were both blown away by it! The chicken was juicy and tasty, the bacon was crispy and delicious and the bread was both soft and crunchy (but not so crunchy as to cut your mouth up just perfect) It was £6 each for the meals and we left very very satisfied.

This diner was recommended to us by some town residents. The bacon was the best I have tasted in years and the sausages had a lovely taste, the egg was cooked exactly as I like them, runny but not snotty! Friendly service and good clean decor. In my opinion the All Day Breakfast here is better value and definitely better flavours than the well known brand pub on the main street. We often pass this town, so will be going back to have a milkshake and try the waffles. I will recommend this diner to everybody.

"Gidleigh Park is a country house located in a wooden wally in Devon. It is quite hard to reach the place on a very narrow road, which is very beautiful, but apparently during the winter larger cars can’t even get there. Gidleigh Park houses a two-Michelin star restaurant with Michael Caines as the main chef (the restaurant was recently voted number 1 restaurant in the UK by the Harden’s Sunday Times Food List 2014). Gidleigh Park also has bedrooms (apparently all individual in style and design) and you can stay there for the night and then wonder in the gardens of the estate, which I saw some people doing when I was there. I was visiting Devon and my boyfriend chose Gidleigh Park for lunch on a Sunday and we took the long and narrow road to Gidleigh Park. The inside of the house was very old and had a lot of charm. It had eclectic art and antiques and different style rooms, the lounge had different tables, chairs and the bar was done up in a completely different style. Gidleigh Park showcased British charm and elegance. You could chose to have their signature sample menu for £140/ person, but instead we went for the much cheaper version, their lunch set menu for £44/ person for 3 courses (you could also have 4 courses for £57). Also note choosing dishes a la carte would set you back £115, so the lunch menu seems like the cheapest way how to enjoy Gidleigh Park. We did not have any wine, but apparently thy have an amazing wine cellar. The three course lunch menu included a small appetizer, a starter and a main course and you could choose from one of the 3 starters and one of the 3 main courses. Our appetizer was “goat’s cheese foam with beetroot jelly, candied walnuts and granny smith apple”, but as my boyfriend does not like goats’ cheese he had a tuna tartar as his appetizer which actually looked better than my appetizer. I was not to"
