"We were in Jedburgh for a few days and trust me it was a struggle to find a place to eat as most restaurants were either fully booked or closed! Anyway after attempting to book twice and failed due to being fully booked we managed to get a booking on the Monday night as we had recommendations from local shop owners (as well as our B&B people) to go and eat at the Forresters! And they were right! The owners are delightful, excellent customer service, and mostly, the food is really to die for! So good we went two nights in a row!! There is a wide selection of interesting burgers, amazing street food and excellent steak grill! I had a steak the first night and burger the next, both loaded with salad and sides. And the prices are so reasonable!! Definitely excellent price for the quality of the food you have! I am a foodie and I have a big appetite! And even I could not order the dessert after my main! We will definitely go back next time we will be in Jedburgh and we will definitely book in advance!"

"I called earlier in the day to reserve a table in the bar because we had two dogs, but I was informed that we couldn't book a table there. When we arrived at 5 PM, the bar was nearly empty, and we requested a menu, only to be told that food wouldn't be available until 7 PM as that was the only time slot allowed. There was no mention of needing to reserve a slot for ordering food in their advertising. Overall, it was quite disappointing, and I definitely wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Food rating: 1."

"Stayed one night in the Capon Tree with partner and doggo. Room was lovely, spotlessly clean, bed comfy and and had a cracking wee breakfast hamper waiting for us in the fridge. Parents were staying at nearby campsite and we arranged to meet at the Capon Tree for dinner to celebrate Dad's birthday. So glad we did as our meal/experience was absolutely amazing! We were seated in the bar area, as we had the pup, and it was beautiful. The food was tremendous, with no complaints even from the fussy eaters in our group. The owner gifted a bottle of Prosecco to help us celebrate, which was a lovely touch. The service was outstanding and it was such a relaxed, happy environment. I honestly can't recommend this place enough. A little gem! Thank you Noteworthy details: Dog friendly."

"Little did I know such a perfect gem existed in the borders. Award winning and local beer flows fresh from the taps like the ambrosia of the gods themselves. The food is that ideal combination of pub goodness and local produce that produces a little bit of magic on your plate. Needless to say the food and drink is complimented by the friendly, competent and knowledgeable staff. I can't recommend the Ancrum Cross Keys enough... "Popped in for lunch while driving further north, this is obviously a popular place and luckily we just before the rush! A warm welcome and a table quickly found and order taken. This is a very nice restaurant, just a few minutes' walk from the main car park. It has a great menu, nothing too complicated, but local and appealing. We were both very pleased with our choice for main, and stayed for a coffee and a shared cake (as the portions are quite generous). There are local paintings, prints, cards and book on sale too. Service was excellent, and all very reasonably priced. Highly recommended."
