"Stayed one night in the Capon Tree with partner and doggo. Room was lovely, spotlessly clean, bed comfy and and had a cracking wee breakfast hamper waiting for us in the fridge. Parents were staying at nearby campsite and we arranged to meet at the Capon Tree for dinner to celebrate Dad's birthday. So glad we did as our meal/experience was absolutely amazing! We were seated in the bar area, as we had the pup, and it was beautiful. The food was tremendous, with no complaints even from the fussy eaters in our group. The owner gifted a bottle of Prosecco to help us celebrate, which was a lovely touch. The service was outstanding and it was such a relaxed, happy environment. I honestly can't recommend this place enough. A little gem! Thank you Noteworthy details: Dog friendly."

We ate in the restaurant and highly recommend it. The food was excellent and the service was first class and fast, despite them being very busy. The bar and restaurant are comfortable and attractive, and located in the centre of Jedburgh. Service: 5 Location: 5

Very nice hotel in the cozy little village of Jedburg. The hotel also has a restaurant where they serve fine dining. Gluten-free options are available. Almost so that the hotel and restaurant lift the whole village. Well worth a visit. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5

We were delighted to find such delicious food at Capon Tree. It took us too long to visit, but we will definitely be back soon for our second visit. The cooking was excellent, with thoughtful and creative dishes made with great ingredients. The service was lovely and relaxed. Overall, we give this top establishment top marks. Went for dinner and it was mediocre. Food came out incredibly fast, made you think how long it has been waiting to be served up. Poor wine selection. Service staff seemed disinterested about being there, especially the main waitress. Panko cod was no better than a birdseye fish finger. Lemon tart wasn't set and was swamped with too much raspberry coulis. All in all, not worth it. Service: 2

"we called for lunch well known that it was a regular place, not a veg / vegan only eat. After a dame was shown in a few minutes on a table, she returned and asked if we wanted menus. I looked like a thought reader or a bright watcher. we ordered 2x roasted sandwiches with roasted vig and mushrooms, 2 ginger beers. eating lasted 45 minutes to arrive, no advice that it would take this time, the place was not busy. cute as if it were a choir. cute in 2 paper napkins. not placed per person. has she been a customer in a restaurant or caffe? further disappointment was the toast normal supermarket square white brot. the mushrooms and the veg. were good, but it could have been so much better with the “Profi” brot from a local baker. was the sauce in a sandwich vegan? hmm. salat was the usual boring eisberg plus tomaten etc. No one asked if our eating would be in order, no one asked if we wanted something else, coffee or tee. I waited to pay as soon as it was obvious that no one came to the table again, a long wait. the same server asked if we wanted to sit outside or inside. she was completely obsessed that she served us. completely unintentional of personality or ability. the owners of the place can not be very switched on if they cannot see that the staff is so poor. Maybe it was their first job, but either they hadn't done any co-workers training or she just overhauled the job or vegan. they simply do not go home with expectations to anything they do not themselves in a quarter of the time, but better."
