"This restaurant was recommended to me by my Hairdresser so I took a friend along for her birthday. What a fantastic evening we had because the food and the staff were amazing. The food is authentic and not your usual coloured sauces as is typical in many restaurants catering for the English pallet. Since, visiting I have recommended this restaurant to about 15 people if you love Indian food, this is the place. I will be introducing this restaurant to all my friends and family."

After trying all the local restaurants in Guildford, we decided to venture a bit further and found Kayal, which had high rankings on Trip Advisor. The menu was superb, the food was delicious and well presented. We will definitely be returning.

I had a great meal here a few weeks ago, so I decided to bring some friends with me this time. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. Despite booking online, my reservation was mixed up and there wasn't a table ready for us. I will give this restaurant another chance in the future, hoping for a better experience.

Kayal is consistently wonderful. The menu is varied and authentically south Indian, the portions are generous and very reasonably priced, and the staff are friendly. The vegetable stew with appam is great for a comforting meal, the paneer dishes are delicious, and there are some wonderful desserts. If you're really hungry or want to experience a whole range of flavours in one meal then the sadya (thali) is a three course banquet.
