"We spent our last couple of holidays at Polisena to finish our Italian travels. It was fantastic. Although we are not vegetarian or vegan, the concept the staff puts together is perfect. Perfect location nearby Bergamo (car: 20 minutes), Lecco (20) and Como (45-50) in a silent, relaxing environment fully respecting “Mother Nature”. The room we had was spacious and comfortable. Silent airco (needed since we had some very warm days), clean, good beds for a good night sleep after a couple of busy days. Next morning the breakfast was waiting (you order breakfast for your stay with a possibility to change). Delicious food and everything from the farm or from the neighbourhood. Fresh and well prepared. The staff is also very kind and helpful in every way. Good parking spaces. The dinners we had were outstanding, as well as the wines they offer (we only drank red, so no comments to the whites they offer). The food is freshly prepared, surprising, creative, very nicely arranged and in the right quantities. The Bemu wine was outstanding (highly rated at Vivino as well). We only can highly recommend visit the fantastic place. There are no negatives here. You will love it!! We definitely hope to come back."

"I returned after so many years in this farm which I kept a good memory. I should say that I was pleasantly surprised because it has improved more than my memories. The location is really beautiful, the very characteristic and well kept premises. it is possible to dine in the inner courtyard, set up in a very intimate and nice way or in the interior. Respect all covid regulations, the staff was always very kind and attentive, asking after each course if there was a need for a resumption (even this sign of quality, although the portions are already numerous and abundant so we never asked for a second portion). We have taken the typical seasonal menu, so it is good to inform yourself at the time of booking, because being seasonal can vary from time to time. As already said the portions are abundant and of really excellent quality. special mention for the first, with homemade pasta, but also the other courses were not less. they use all raw materials in the area and in ours, and I must say that it feels. I was also pleasantly surprised the wine (red,) also local but certainly higher than the bulky wines found in many places. great perfume, you did not even feel after the inevitable various drinks glasses to accompany the various courses, also this synonym of excellent quality. It is a place to keep in mind also for special occasions, really beautiful, with high quality, friendly staff and very good food. The price is in my opinion correct and not exaggerated, given the quality of food and abundance."

"È veramente difficile esprimere a parole l 'immensa gratitudine che proviamo nei confronti di Rodolfo e di tutto lo staff de Il Castagno, ristorante nel quale si è tenuto il nostro squisito, impeccabile pranzo (e cena! di nozze, non solo per aver cucinato con amore e servito con estrema gentilezza, cura e attenzione noi e i nostri ospiti, ma anche per aver allestito con tanta raffinatezza – nello stile che abbracciava perfettamente il tema nuziale – sia gli spazi esterni che gli interni, seguendo con pazienza infinita le nostre indicazioni (per esempio in merito all 'intrattenimento e al posizionamento dell 'oggettistica realizzata... , riservandoci, inoltre, delle 'chicche ' e garantendoci sempre la massima disponibilità. Le portate erano tutte deliziose, cucinate e impiattate a regola d 'arte: hanno soddisfatto tutti i palati, non solo nella qualità eccelsa, ma anche nella quantità; infatti, pur essendo portate già ricche, sono stati offerti generosi bis. Non è mancata l 'attenzione alle intolleranze alimentari dei nostri invitati. La location, infine, è incantevole: il giardino offre una stupenda, romanticissima vista sulla vallata. Che dire, è il nostro ristorante del cuore, nel quale tutti lavorano con passione. "La locanda è stata una bellissima sorpresa, sono entrato per bere un caffè e sono stato subito conquistato dalla professionalità del titolare e della barista, poi vedendo passare dei piatti invitanti ho voluto provare la cucina, la sorpresa più grande... qualità degli ingredienti miscelati con amore dal titolare che ti fa capire quanta passione ci mette in questo lavoro!!! Altra nota positiva la ragazza che si occupa del bar e dei tavoli, simpatica e disponibile ti fa sentire a casa!!! Se volete assaggiare dei buoni piatti o scegliere un buon vino da un lista ben rifornita la vite è il posto giusto per voi. Ottimi anche i dolci!!!!"

"I ate here last night with a Groupon coupon. We had a starter consisting of mixed cold meats with a bit of mozzarella. It was all very good. Then I took the risotto and my husband got pasta with rucola and gorgonzola (portions very generous We both thoroughly enjoyed our dishes. We then took a tagliata. The portions here were much more limited than the previous ones but the meat was very tasty indeed. We had chips too but they arrived when we'd nearly finished. To conclude my husband took the tiramisù and I got the lemon mousse with fruits of the forest. Both desserts were really nice. The only negative thing about the evening was the extremely slow service. Both waitresses were ever so friendly but maybe they weren't expecting so many people on the 13th August (the place was full both inside and out . The fish dishes looked and smelled very inviting and so the next time I'm in brivio I'll be back to try."
