"Decided to visit Meneham on the last day of a delightful holiday revisiting Brittany . We had planned to have our last meal here before heading home early Sunday morning. Arriving at 1.30 pm we ordered drinks and sat outside. I went in to ask to see the menu to be very brusquely told that the kitchen was closed and the restaurant was full . The website said open all day but there was a notice to say they were closing at 6 pm due to a wedding. We very disappointedly accepted the kitchen was closed . I went in to pay about half an hour later to discover a couple that had just walked in sitting at a table having their order taken by the waitress that earlier had told me that the kitchen was closed. So our final meal turns out to be baguette and cheese from the supermarket. Not the finale we had imagined."

"Very nice welcome. The coffee and restaurant have been completely renovated. It's pretty, clear, practical. Boss, come and shake hands and welcome us. He explains, the concept, where things are. Plate, plate to choose our entries for you... fresh rosé grapefruit, red cabbage, cream cucumber, tomatoes, cabbage steamed flowers, tomatoes, homemade grated carrots, céleri remoulade, homemade paste, extra ham, corn, pickles...... Hot dishes, roasted pork with cream, or kebab meat, otherwise possibility of steak, or slice of ham that is warmed on a grill available in 30 seconds. Accompaniment, there are everything, green vegetables, pasta, rice, hot fries all the time....two sauces to choose, mustard to old, or pepper. In a transparent fridge you can choose your desserts, homemade pies, caramel cream with salted butter, floating island, yogurts and other lacted desserts, cheeses there.Makes of sheep cheese for people like me, intolerant to lactose, chocolate pears, there are also soy yoghurts for the intolerant to lactose. In a transparent freezer there is a good choice of ice. You can eat good and simple, in a nice setting, for 12,50 euros per meal. Red wine, lemonade, water at will. Recommended reservation because the room is not very large. But the boss is very reactive and organized and everything goes well. Coffee. The restaurant also offers sandwiches at all times, you even compose your sandwich with a choice of products preserved in a fridge, over transparent, more useful and convenient."

"If half stars could be awarded I would have rated this at three and a half but, out of fairness, have increased this to four. Meneham in Brittany is a lovely part of the country and well worth visiting. Unfortunately this is the only restaurant in the immediate area and the lack of competition shows. The restaurant was clean, the background music was low key and appropriate and the décor was also quite acceptable. We visited out of season (early October) so perhaps the restaurant was not seen at its best. The staff were sometimes helpful and sometimes disinterested and service was slow (even with only 4-5 tables occupied). We found the menu to be quite good although limited in range of choices. Cheapest main course was a baked potato with toppings and a salad at 14.50 Euro. Other main courses ranged from 17-28 Euro. The food tasted good but was warm, rather than hot. Finally, although this is a popular area for tourists from UK, Germany and Netherlands, the menu was only available in French and the waiter/waitress was unable to provide any translation. We would certainly recommend Meneham but suggest that visitors might want to find somewhere else to eat."
