"came to carcassonne on the way from toulouse. had to have lunch here and i thought the restaurants here are sure to be tourist traps. i mean this place is a castle and its grounds are full of souvenir shops and all...but i couldnt be more wrong. i checked out the menus of several restaurants and decided on here. i saw the 29eur menu which i can have foie gras as the entree, margret de canard for the main and a choc lava cake with ice cream for dessert. i am so glad i chose this restaurant. the foie gras mi cuit was delicious. the highlight was the margret at almost perfect medium rare. absolutely delicious. the dessert was amazing too, the chocolate oozing out from the cake perfectly. they have menu with cheaper prices and a la carte too...the restaurant was packed not too long after the opened for lunch. so go early. i believe they start service at 12noon.i cannot comment about the other restaurants but for sure i would recommend this one."

3 of us visited this place, one a vegetarian, two meat eaters. We had good food and good choices. Wine by the pichet was good quality and fresh. We were sure we were going to get caught in a "tourist trap" restaurant and took a chance on this place, not expecting too much. How wrong we were! Cute little quiet courtyard out the back, great service, but best of all superb food! The cassoulet was the best I've ever tasted and the tart tartin was devine. Can highly recommend!

We had a wonderful dinner. Food was great and of course we tried the typical "cassoulet". It was really good and tasty. Waiters we're profesional and close. We order local red wine and it was good. Location was excellent, just close to the Narbona door in a very tourist square. Price was adjusted to the quality. Definitely we made a good decision. We recommend this restaurant to anyone.
