"We came upon Le Lion D'Or by luck after staying in a hotel near Toulouse which disappointed us on all levels. The young owner has just got it right..we had lunch here...the food was absolutely delicious..we had 2 courses of the table d"hote menu.my husband had the most delicious risotto with salmon. I had roasted chicken in a lovely just.obviously made with fresh chicken stock and the creaminess comes puree.followed by pannacotta and fresh fruit. Perfect ! We spied steak tartare and other lovely plates.... all looked good. The restaurant was full..one group sampling obviously some excellent local wines.. The owners deserve to be really successful.we saw that it is a hotel as well...we will definitely stay there if en route to the south.. Thankyou for showing that it is still possible to make a success of a new venture in the middle of France...goes to show that if you get it right...it works !"

Just trend up at 12/30 and got the last table . Food from local producers and well presented and seasonal . Although busy service was good and didn’t have to wait or felt as we were being rushed. Wish I could go back again tomorrow but will be back again soon

We booked a meal for 14 for my birthday with kids in tow. The food was outstanding, the best meal of the holiday, the apricot tart is a real highlight. The owners were fantastic and friendly, I must confess to a second visit without the children to try the beer and cold meat platter on another night! The terrace is a hidden gem.In summary we all had a great evening and I'll go out of my way to eat here again!

Twelve of us had a wonderful evening in this lovely restaurant last Friday evening. The staff were fantastic and the food was delicious. From the outside, the Lion D'Or looks like a small, French cafe in a small town square but it has plenty of space and a delightful courtyard. Despite booking for such a large party on the day, we were warmly welcomed and enjoyed the hospitality. We would recommend this restaurant without hesitation and will certainly return when next in the area.

Couldn't fault the food or service; at 66 euros for 2 (comprising 2 x 3-course menus at 25 euros per person, plus drinks) we felt we had had a very, very good meal at a very reasonable price, and the service was friendly too. Hence lots of locals dining there. We would definitely return. Just found the decor (spacious, modern) maybe a little bleak, ambiance maybe a little lacking. Location is opposite the church; there are a few parking spaces right outside, and other street parking close by.

Found this excellent place by accident as all best places in France are found....Really impressed with thier understanding of customer service, really welcoming, professional and pleasant without being overpowering.Really tasty food especially lunch set meal.WiFi good too. Both young servers helped with menu in English for "dullards" like me; learnt in London. The experience on first visit lead to further visits.Don't pass this by; free easy parking next to church except on market days - Fridays.Loved it

They get some things right but some simple errors. They forgot the wine list. Anyway went for a pitchet which was ok. Both starters were pretty good the prawns in guacomole and bruschetta - except the latter was too cold on untoasted bread. This was balanced out by the nice pepper ice cream. The dorade was smothered in a dill sauce which was too much but there was a nice tomato egg custard side. Partners salmon burger was frozen in the middle - the sent a fresh one out. As usual the bread batch was rubbish. Cheese plate was a bit boring.

Having been to the area for years and with no place of any worth to eat we were pleased to see other reviews of Le Lion D'or, so we tried it and they were right, the lovely young couple who are now trying to make a name for themselves are certainly doing just that........we were served with a smile and the lunches were excellent, they speak Spanish, English, French and Russian so cover all nationalities! Well worth a visit for a great meal, although we only went for lunch there were plenty of locals also having lunch which is always a good sign. May it thrive. They also serve Movenpick ice cream (Swiss) which is best in the world with a selection of flavours which I have never seen anywhere...

We have eaten in this restaurant, at lunchtime, regularly since Pierre took over. This visit, had it been the first, would have put us off returning. We had the worst lunch we have experienced here since the take over: greasy samosas, mushroom pasta that was all chewy over-cooked and tasteless pasta, not much mushroom and so little sauce that I couldn't eat most of the dish. Whist the steak was cooked correctly, the accompanying chips were soggy, possibly because of being held in the kitchen or due to stale oil. The dick sauté was more like steamed duck, with very little flavour. The Asian noodles were actually very plain. We declined desserts as a result.Fingers crossed that normal standard...

We had a beef steak and tuna steak which were good. However, service was not very good. It is marked outside and on the internet that they open at 17:30 hr. When we entered at 18:30 hr the waitress said they only open at 19:00 hr... and send us and our 2 small kids (1 and 3 years old back outside to wait when it was 5 degrees... Then the menu was not explained well and it seemed we were charged quite a lot for food that was advertised outside as good value. Also, the waitress was not friendly, forgot sauce for the steak and was constantly away (to smoke or texting on her phone? . We tried to speak the best French we could, but the waitress did not seem to be helpful towards us at all. If ser...
