"We live in the village and used to go to La Cascade regularly. The food is good if unimaginative. I liked the lamb which was tender. My husband had a bad steak tartare. The restaurant is central, busy and has a roadside outside terrace. Not the best view in Villecroze but lovely on a hot day. The reason we stopped going however was the feeling that Martine was unfriendly. Despite seeing us and recognizing us as regulars, she never once spoke to us or acknowledged us so we've taken our custom elsewhere. She has her favorites but not us unfortunately."

"very nice discovery for this very charming and idyllic restaurant that is located in a wooden basement. we spent a pleasant time tasting a refined cuisine in well-equipped plates. dishes are original, concocted with fresh and local products. "having eaten here 5 or 6 times over the years and enjoyed a pleasant pizza and beer previously we paid a couple of visits again this year - the first was again for a pizza and beer which was tasty, well cooked and fairly priced so we decided to come back a couple of nights later for a proper meal. Biggest mistake of the holiday! the food was awful; the 2 entrees, a rabbit terrine and a Salmon mousse were virtually inedible being soggy, wet and tasteless, obviously being pre-made processed food brought in and heated up. The 2 entrecotes for the main course were virtually tasteless and tough and chewy but worst still I then found a mouldy coin in the salad !!. While the staff apologised there was no suggestion of a refund, merely of a free drink after my dessert should I have one - which I didnt. It was also pretty expensive, the above with half a bottle of rose costong 65 euros. Its a bit sad really as its a pleasant place sitting under the shade of the trees in the village square and although the service is fairly indifferent I probably would come back but ONLY for pizza! under no circumstances would I go here for a proper meal"

"Contrary to the reviews previously left, the welcome was more than perfect. The two servers we had during our two visits were super smiling The dishes are perfectly prepared and the quantities perfect Big highlight on the smoothie and the Frozen cocktail: two huge nuggets Thanks to them for everything! "Moi et femme avons pris une table un soir , n'ayant pas très fin après un apéro nous avons commandé un menu pour 2 , la serveuse à bien pris notre commande , le patron est revenu vers nous pour nous dire " nous ne faisons pas ce genre de chose ", alors j'ai compris qu'il s'agit de rentabilité ( pas commandé de vin non plus ) je lui propose de nous facturer a la carte .Je reviens voir le patron à l'intérieur du resto pour exprimer mon mécontentement car jai pas aimé le ton et surtout la forme de son expression " nous ne faisons pas ce genre de chose " ..... il me réponds d'un air méprisant " je ne suis pas la pour prendre des leçons " , on a pris la fuite tout de suite car il y'a plus rien à se dire .Les restaurateurs facho J'en ai pas vu encore , pourtant j'ai sillonné la France mais à tourtour vous avez Une bonne adresse !!!"
