"Inn view of the heat, we opted for seating inside for 10 of us. The menu was quite extensive from the blackboard, and everyone enjoyed their meals. For a Sunday, the price was very reasonable and the quantities generous and nicely presented. We arrived at...12.05. We should have arrived later as at 12noon churchgoers were leaving their services, and cars parking suddenly became much easier! The meal was relaxed, and we were looked after very well. Had it not been quite so hot, we would have eaten on the shady terrace. Being the hottest weekend of June (38C) inside was definitely the right choice. We will certainly go here again, and one of our party, booked for another visit this week."

Good menu choices. The portions were generous and tasty. We all enjoyed our meals. And afterwards a free digestif. Was a nice place to sit outside and the staff were friendly and attentive

we had two meals here and had a good time. I can recommend the burgers, not the bird-eye type, fresh made real flesh, they were enough to fill them on their own faust. very friendly staff and good prices. Speisekarte ansehen

Typical French bistro. This place has a great atmosphere and is one of our favourite eateries in the region. Very good honest French food and served with the local Ginestas wine all for under 15 euros per person !! Not to be missed!!

We came here for lunch and snagged one of the last tables going, for one of the only restaurants in this small little village, even in August, the place is busy! The service was good, the burgers were handmade and incredible! Definitely a good find!

A terrific family style restaurant in a pretty village. The food was well prepared and presented good country cuisine and the service was excellent. We have been twice now once for the menu which at €13.50 is very good value for money, and once just...for a beer, both time the service was friendly and timely. The house wine, the local coop ?, was good and we received a complimentary digestive – some sort of apple almond liqueur which was also very good. Speisekarte ansehen

6 of us came here for lunch, as the outside tables were too hot. The prix fixe lunch menus were comprehensive and offered much choice. Portions were generous. I loved my coquille st Jacques, followed by Savoyarde salad. Didn't want an ice cream, but the coffee...was excellent. Two things I didn't like: table on the path to the WC, and the fact that the TV was on all the time. But, this is a local place and they all love the tours de france, so what can you say?

This was our 2nd visit to this restaurant and we found the choices disappointing and limited. We arrived just after midday as a party of 3. The starters included a mushroom salad and smoked salmon which were fairly unexciting. The main courses included 3 different...beef dishes, a veal dish(but even at this time only one portion was left) and stuffed tomatoes. Our stuffed tomatoes and carpaccio of beef were basic and not very satisfying. Desserts however were very refreshing and the house white wine was nice enough. It was not expensive at 44.5 Euros for 3 people and all the outside tables were taken. We hope the menu choices are better next time

"You wouldn’t know about this little restaurant unless someone told you or you read it here. Salèlles-d’Aude is a little sleepy village along the bucolic Canal de la Robine, a southerly branch of France’s famous Canal du Midi. Cook n’ Roll is a crazy little...eatery hidden away down a leafy lane and featuring an old Citroën van serving as its garden table setting hatchery. It is a simply magnifique and utterly bohemian setting for some fine rustic fare. There might not be much to choose from on the changing menu, but that hardly matters as it is bound to be good. On our particular dining night there were exactly two starters, two mains and one dessert. Starters consisted of tuna ceviche and chicken style style salad. Mains were duck breast in a totally enticing sauce and tuna with tagliatelle on a green bean bed. Dessert was creamy vanilla tart. Wine is sold by the carafe or the bottle and feature some of the local product. If the food alone was simple merveilleux, then the setting was incroyable. Simple metallic chairs an tabled scattered in among a few trees in what amounts to a back garden. You can dine inside, but why bother. Run by three well-travelled and dedicated connoisseurs of cuisine, Jean-Marie, Arian and Milo this shy little gem invites you to linger. Reservations are absolutely necessary and perhaps a good map. Otherwise, walk minutes south along the canal track (west side) from the main bridge to find Cook n’ Roll and look for the little side path. You will be utterly enchanted."
