We spent 2 nights in the escapade and we couldn't dream better to close our holidays! A friendly and warm welcome in a very family village atmosphere. We first had lunch here and both my wife and I had the fish chips. They were great, lightly battered fish and crispy chips along with a tangy tartar sauce. The following night, we returned for dinner and my wife had an omelet and I had a huge pork chop. Again, both meals were excellent and the service on both occasions was friendly and fast. House red wine was also good and inexpensive.

L'Escapade is a hidden gem in Carlux village near the Dordogne River. The set menu of aspargus flan, tagliatelle with a rich tomato and meat sauce and tarte citron with chantilly was delicious and only 13 euros. The en suite double room in the attic where we stayed was spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed and furnished in a simple modern style. The views were lovely. The young couple are charming and helpful. We recommended L'Escapade to friends who have booked a weekend in September 2016. Speisekarte ansehen
