Went for a birthday meal with my son and daughter. Service and food was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. We will be back.

The service was not great at this place. We waited over an hour for our food even though it wasn't busy at all. They said it was because everything was cooked fresh but some of the food clearly was not fresh. They also forgot basic things like a spoon for the soup. Overall not great experience. We just needed a place to stay for one night before continuing our trip to London as we landed late in Stansted. The hotel room was amazing. We had a breakfast included which we could choose from a menu with a good selection. It was super tasty. The stuff was lovely and so friendly. I was extremely disappointed with this restaurant. It fell far short of providing a fine dining experience, as the food was just average. The fillet steak I ordered medium rare was cooked medium, and the prawns were overcooked. The service was lacking, to the point where my husband had to go into the kitchen, where the staff were chatting, to ask for another glass of wine. Despite these shortcomings, the bill for four people totaled over £200, for a 3-course set menu on Father's Day. We only had 2 glasses of wine, soft drinks, and requested only 2 courses for the children, yet we were still charged for 3 courses.
