The lodge was a great spot to hang out with friends, enjoy some drinks, and have some delicious food. I would definitely return.

I recently enjoyed a delicious lunch at The Lodge. The portions were generous and served promptly and hot. I highly recommend it. Our group of 11 all ordered different meals and everyone agreed that the food and service were fantastic. The staff were helpful and very friendly.

Visited today for Sunday lunch expecting typical pub food, how wrong we were, the meal was superb, all fresh, not a frozen veg in sight, lovely roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing and succulent gravy, only complaint was the roast potatoes, could have eaten twice as many they were so nice. Will definitely be returning very soon

Visited for the first time today, was just looking to somewhere local for lunch and previous reviews said the pie was good. We received a warm welcome and great service, the food was very good but the pie was excellent, as good as anywhere you'll find in Tameside. We will definitely be back again, apparently the Lasagne is excellent too!

I visited the restaurant with my husband and grandson for tea. I was disappointed to find out that they still do not have a card machine. Despite this, the food was good and we all enjoyed our meal. However, I was put off by the fact that the barstaff and landlady were eating and drinking while serving customers. This has made me hesitant to return anytime soon.

Thought we would give it a shot so both my wife and I went on a Sunday at 6pm as I fancied a roast dinner. Not sure if it was because it was later in the day but to say that it was mediocre is an understatement. The mash was salty, beef was tasteless and my wife’s cheese and onion pie was dry, gluey and as if it had been cooked a week before. Now we’re not fussy just want a decent tasty meal for our hard earned cash, but unfortunately ‘another one bites the dust’ and we won’t be returning.

Visited on Mother's Day for a family meal, chose to have the Sunday roast, very good value at £7.25 with a choice of 4 meats, beef, chicken, pork or ham was spoilt for choice then told we could have 2 meats if we liked so went for beef and ham, both very nice and cooked really well. Came with Yorkshire Pud, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, stuffing ball, mash and roast spuds and gravy, really good. The only down side was we waited about 45 minutes from ordering till we got our food but we were a table of 6 and it was quite busy and it was Mother's Day but will definitely go back

Just got back from having a Sunday dinner and so glad we went. The roast beef dinner with all the trimmings was fantastic the beef was not the usual cateering stuff some places serve. The veg and Yorkshire pudding the same all served with gravy that must have been made with the meat juices with loads of flavour. As for the staff they were so friendly and helpful. All this with a well kept pint of cask ale. Only downfall with this place is that we left it this long to try it. Please try it but do book as it does get busy to avoid disappointment. To the landlady and staff thank you and will see you again very soon

Lovely clean modern pub, with a great friendly atmosphere. I have been on numerous occasions with just my husband for a lovely meal or with family and friends for birthdays and celebratory meal. The food may be classed as traditional homemade pub grub. But it is more like restaurant standard. There as often been 20 of us including children and the professional, friendly staff always go out of their way to accommodate our needs. You know how awkward kids can be, saying I don’t want beans, pea’s etc. There is a good choice on the menu homemade e.g Fish and Chips, hand made pies, chicken, burgers, Lasagna, curry etc. Plus a healthy choice menu for those who are counting the calories. Great kids...
