"Amazing pub! We knew it was going to be a great experience as soon as we walked in the door. The staff was quick to take our food order, even though the kitchen was about to close. They made sure we got the perfect table near the fireplace. The service was outstanding, with the staff going above and beyond to make sure our evening meal was perfect. The steak they served us was incredible! We would recommend this place 10/5."

"Booked for a family celebration the on line menu was very appealing.On arrival we were seated and presented with what we would call a very limited menu. We we informed there was only one roast available enough for one serving ,we were informed it had been a busy lunch service. Just before our payment we heard the waitress offering another option of food which was not on the limited menu to other customers. Food came promptly but we had to ask the waitress twice for the bill and had a long wait before we could settle the bill. In future it would be helpful to advertise the online menu with the limited which is available. Our party of 4 were disappointed with such a basic menu on a Sunday dinner service options were burger, sausage&mash,fish &chips , cheese &onion pie and one vegetarian option.There was nothing special but very basic on the menu and no specials. On the whole it was very disappointing and online menu misleading."

"Rarely do I get the time or the motivation to review a stay at an establishment. However, The Hare and Hounds at Bowland Bridge stands head and shoulders above the norm and truly deserves a review. Over the years I have travelled extensively both in the British Isles and Overseas and it is very rare that I find an establishment that one simply cannot find fault. Last week, was my second stay at the Hare and Hounds, Bowland Bridge and it is the perfect overnight stay for when I have been driving South after working in Northern Scotland. The location and everything that this establishment offers presents an ideal and very cathartic stop for me after working away for long periods of time. The problem with the Hare and Hounds Inn is that everything is so professionally created with support from a warm and helpful team, both front and back of house, that it then tempts one to try desperately hard to try and find fault in something. I have a very detailed and critical eye, but I can honestly say that I cannot find fault in any aspect of this wonderful Inn. Thank you Andrew it was a pleasure meeting you and please pass on to your whole team my sincere thanks and appreciation. "we stopped here for a quick pint while we continue our trip to our parent house in ulverston for many years, and it is clear that this pub is infertile and has left the atmosphere the place. I understand that there was a change of the hands...sometimes it takes one to find the new administration away. what I think was the manager who greeted us with a cloud of smoke at the door (not very professional, especially this day and age), offered some, but not all natives a 20% discount. again not very professional to discuss this before people who pay full whack. arrogant. the manager was more concerned about their local people than all others. it felt uncomfortable to watch people waiting for drinks. the menu is nothing special and not much choice for snacks. I remember the days when it was full of native, walker and the atmosphere was great. what happened? Whoever took it must act now before they frighten more people."
