Metro West End - Speisekarte

Stopped off here for a couple of drinks. Very pleasant staff and atmosphere. Very clean and well laid out. Will definitely return if in the area again!

I am always hesitant about trying hotel restaurants, but we were pleasantly surprised by this one. We enjoyed our meals here so much that we ate here on both nights of our stay. I would highly recommend the flat iron steak, as well as the burger and fish and chips.

It was a shame that on a Friday night they had run out of the Mussels and the Venison. Meal was very enjoyable, biggest issue was the cost of the wine. A£10 voucher brought our bottle down to £23 but it was still very expensive in our opinion. Rated the food and the service was good, would use again Speisekarte ansehen

This place was located walking distance from where I was staying near Haymarket Station. The menu is very appealing...wide variety. I enjoyed a steak and some side items which were all very good. It was a very laid back restaurant. I did have to call over the waiter once or twice because it was not that busy. That is understandable.

Really enjoyed our evening from our arrival to departure. Very welcoming, friendly and helpful waitress who knew her menu. Nice touch of complimentary rolls with balsamic and oil served whilst starters being prepared. I had local mussels which were plump and succulent and cooked perfectly, my husband had Portobello mushrooms which were very tasty, enjoyable. Main I had a small tagliatelle with salmon which was more than sufficient and well prepared with lots of fish. My husband's chicken breast was moist and tender. We would certainly return, excellent value and service, well done chef and colleagues.

My husband and I recently dined at Metro and unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant. The portion sizes of the steak with vegetables and chips were extremely small, leaving us feeling like we had ordered a child's meal. The steak was no larger than three fingers, with a minimal amount of French fries and what appeared to be roasted tomatoes as the accompanying vegetables for 18 euros. The chicken Caesar salad was also disappointing, with dry chicken and wilted lettuce. Although there may have been Parmesan cheese, I cannot confirm. During our stay at a B&B on West Coates, we discovered a great dining spot just a five-minute walk away. Metro West End on Haymarket Terrace, a restaurant attached to the Apex hotel, impressed us with its modern decor and friendly staff. The ambience was very pleasant and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the grilled chicken, cabbage, and fries while my wife ordered the haddock and chips, both of which were mouth-wateringly tasty. Our bill came to £41.30 for both meals, sweets, and drinks, which we found to be reasonable considering the quality of the food. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant on our next visit to Edinburgh for dinner. Highly recommended.

Stumbled upon this place looking for a restaurant nearby to Haymarket station. Most of the local pub restaurants were full to bursting with the usual Saturday night crowd as well as rowdy football supporters as there was a Euro match showing. We took a short walk up towards this restaurant which looked quiet, well presented a more upmarket. The menu was quite brief but had enough selection and was very reasonably priced. The restaurant was empty and there was a small group drinking in the bar area so we got the peace and quiet we were craving. Service was excellent, staff were attentive, the food was incredible. This restaurant was quite a find and I hope I get the chance to come back again...

Booked for last minute Mother’s Day lunch on their ‘wine and dine’ £40 deal for two and it was perfectly pleasant. The place was empty except for one business woman having a late lunch, which is a shame as the place was pleasant enough, the title of this review. The wine was standard Italian fare, lightly bodied rather than a Merlot or Primitivo. The squid rings were actual squid and the haggis bonbons were very meaty. The main meals of the burger (with haggis) was good, with a home made thick burger. The fish and chips were of a good standard, light batter but slightly tasteless fish (perhaps some extra seasoning or paprika would have lifted the dish). The fish was however not ‘wet’ as it c...
