The seppia nero tasted briny just as it should. The risotto was excellent and creamy. The tuna tartare was very tasty and the frittura mista was good if a little tough and skimpy on fish. Worth another trip but it needs a bit more to raise its level.

I had the scallops one was warm with a cream sauce and the other was sliced, cold and served with aspergillosis. Even the cold scallop was great which really surprised being I am not a fan of cold seafood. Have woken this morning with a headache caused by my overindulgence of the lovely wine at Mezzaluna restaurant. The menu for this place is a step above what I would expect for a restaurant attached to a business hotel. Excellent wine list (to my detriment! and an inventive menu which had me wishing I had eaten here the night before. I enjoyed a tagliatelle with truffle and mushrooms folloed by the braised pork cheek with wild spinach (hard to know how wild it was, maybe just a little reckless in its youth? . Can recommend Mezzaluna for your stay at the Viest Hotel.

First of all, the pizza was AMAZING!!! The rest of the menu, not so much. We had this 2 nights in a row (we didn’t have a car, so we had limited options for dinner) so we gave them a good chance to impress us. As per photo, the codfish looked like a mess. I complained that the codfish smelt like a sewer but the waitress said that’s the way it is since it’s a lake fish. I had the lobster pasta the night before, but that wasn’t fresh at all. Also had the pork which was very very tough and possibly too well done. The smoked potato soup was a nice touch though. Just order the pizza, it was genuinely delicious and worth the price.

Often you have to be careful of the restaurants associated with hotels because they are overprices and low quality. That is not the case with the Mezzaluna Pizzeria and Restaurant in the Hotel Viest. I visited the restaurant because I was a guest in the hotel and got a discount coupon, but I'm sure glad I did. They had a nice selection of pizzas and pastas as well as traditional Italian meat and seafood dishes. I was also impressed with their selection and quality of wine. If you are in doubt, then let the waiter recommend one for you he is an expert. It does not matter if you are looking for a basic pizza or something more significant, I think you will be happy to decided to dine here. Speisekarte ansehen
