"We were a party of adults so pre-ordered our fish, chips and peas the previous day. As the person who suggested this meal , a lot was riding on the quality of the food : we were not disappointed. Everyone raved about the quality and size of the fish , and the batter was amazing , so light and crisp. Despite a car journey back to the accommodation , the chips still tasted fresh and hadn’t gone into a soggy lump as from some shops , and even when going cold they were still tasty . Everyone voted this meal a great success . Well done to the Middleton in Teesdale shop; you deserve your national acclaim ."

Food was amazing, had battered sausage , chips and mushy peas with jalapeño pieces which were really good. Everything is cooked fresh and it was busy when we went so it took a while, but worth it. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Having been let down due to pingathon we had fish and chips here at one of the picnic tables, on China plates with proper knives and forks. Probably the best fish and chips we have ever eaten. Don’t miss out when visiting this area.

This restaurant is very expensive, with unfriendly staff. One staff member was even carrying a baby while serving, which is not hygienic for either of us. Additionally, they charged extra for ketchup when dining in. The overall experience was poor, despite the food being quite tasty.
