Morrisons Cafe, Malton

This Morrisons Cafe is one of the better ones. I visited on a busy Saturday lunchtime and there were very few empty seats. The lunch was served quickly and tasted delicious. It appeared that this cafe was well-managed.

Popped in for a quick cake a snack with my children after swimming. A lot of things weren't working not available but the staff were incredible. All trying very hard despite things happening out of their control. Lots of smiles and very helpful- even towards the people who weren't very understanding. 5 stars purely for the staff alone.

I recently tried avocado and poached egg on sourdough toast at Guisborough Morrisons and it was delicious. I was hoping Malton would have the same quality, but unfortunately, it did not. The avocado had a bitter taste and was more like a paste, possibly mixed with lemon. The toast was white and from a toaster. The positive aspect was that the egg was perfectly runny. 3 times now we have visited Malton Morrisons for afternoon tea (afternoon tea for2) at around 2pm on a Sunday and 3 times we have been told it's not available. No explanation why ,it's a supermarket they sell food so surely it's not out of stock so we have to assume they can't be bothered after all afternoon tea is what it says afternoon tea so why at 2pm is it unavailable

We visited the cafe at Scarborough Saturday afternoon and can hardly think of one positive. Fruit juice machine not working. Milk shake machine not working . Not a grain of salt in the place. Disinterested staff. Although very quiet took 42 minutes for food to arrive. Mash was cold. Food looked totally unappetising mushy peas looked like they had been scooped off floor. The only good thing was the soup was hot.

My friend and I went here for a quick lunch before we went to the cinema. We shared a prawn sandwich on brown bread with plain crisps. We followed this with a cake each and a pot of tea and a pot of hot water as we both prefer weak tea. The food was lovely and we were served by a friendly helpful member of staff on the till. The restaurant was clean and tidy with clear tables. Would definitely go again when in Malton. Good value too. Speisekarte ansehen

2:30pm on a Tuesday, I ordered my favourite, half chicken with chips meal, lady at cash desk went to kitchen to check and came back with the bad news, they were out of stock. Out of stock! It's a large supermarket with hundreds of fresh chickens for sale, it even sells hot roast chickens freshly roasted, couldn't they get one of them. Come on Morrisons get your act together. On a plus note the cafe looked clean and tidy and the toilet was ok.

Wow, how rude can you be? The restaurant was understaffed as always, and the staff avoided eye contact for 5 minutes as a way of avoiding taking our order. The sandwiches were horrible, with wet bread inside and tough packet prawns. When our breakfast arrived, a staff member just stood there with the tray, so I offered to lift it off and ended up burning my hand because they didn't warn me the plate was hot. They then stalked off as if we had done something wrong. I won't be returning to this restaurant and won't be shopping there either. They need to get their act together!

My wife and I were visiting Malton on our first trip away since lockdown and were looking forward to the usual good value breakfast at Morrisons. Good Covid measures seemed to be in place but there was nobody to explain the system in place at the cafe. We obviously waited in the wrong place as we were comletely ignored by the staff for 10 minutes untill a very unpleasant woman bellowed at us in a high pitched sqeal, 'stand over there and dont touch anything ' while waveing her arms about in a frantic way. We turned on our heels and went and found a lovely little cafe (Hidden Monkey). While I realise this is a stressfull time for every body being rude and unpleasant to customers isnt helping...
