"We visited here at the end of August to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We got married at Stanley House last year and thought it would be special to return. However, we were very underwhelmed. For starters, my partner had the scallops and I had the cheese soufflé which was abit cold in the centre. My partner wanted to order a side of the Polenta Fries but we were told they didn't have any. Main meals were okay, and for pudding my partner had the Chocolate Ganache (he asked for the baked peaches first, but was again told they didn't have any), and I had the pistachio cannoli. I was really disappointed with the dessert and you couldn't taste pistachio, but rather more an almond flavour and then the overpowering berry sauce. It was a Sunday evening and was not very busy, yet we had to wait a while to order food and for our plates to be taken away. The food together with two lemonades and two ciders came to £100 which was very steep for the average food. We wont be returning"

The food was nice however the service was very poor and slow even with the restaurant being very quiet. We ordered drinks and waited around 40 minutes having to ask the waitress twice for them. Staff do need more training.

The meal was exceptional, the Caesar salad was delicious, but the real winner had to be the fish and chips, they were absolutely gorgeous, so fresh and delicious. The wine and desserts were lovely. Would definitely recommend.

Very disappointing experience. We went to celebrate 10 year wedding anniversary. Food was ok but service was really bad. Taken to our table but then waited 35 minutes before anyone came to see us for drinks or an order. After ordering we waited an hour for main course to arrive. After the meal we sat with dirty places in front of us for a good 20 minutes before we just left the table. There was also other tables around us with no guests and dirty plates left on table.

My wife and her friend recently visited Mr. Fred's and had a wonderful experience thanks to Cain. Cain took great care of them during their visit, which included an alternative to cream tea in the afternoon and an evening meal. He was professional, friendly, and very helpful, showing his passion for working in hospitality. Cain is a great asset to the customer-facing team at Stanley House. They are excited to visit Mr. Fred's again when cream teas and afternoon teas are available. Thank you!

Afternoon tea and was a poor experience. Service was non existent, had to go to the bar where people were stood around in order to get a drink and pay the bill (basically any service) not once in two hours did anyone come over and ask about anything. No table was cleared in the same time, with overflowing dirty plates/food on nearby tables and glasses at the bar. Food was unfortunately strictly average for a top hotel and venue. As other reviews have said ‘disappointing’, because some simple training in front of house would solve so much.

We waited and waited and waited a bit more for our (very simple) lunch! I could have driven home and cooked it myself in half the time. There were a lot of staff just standing around looking gormless, the food was on the pass for a full 10 minutes before it was brought to the table. The main was ok, but the desert (wedge of cheesecake promised) was just 3 small flat discs of very ordinary cheesecake that looked like it had been prepared in a silicone bun tray. Very disappointing, and the staff really need some training about customer service. Lucky the company at the table were fabulous!

I am a frequent patron of Fred's Brasserie, and I must say that their customer service is consistently excellent. The staff is always friendly, accommodating, and attentive, making every visit enjoyable. The food at Fred's Brasserie is consistently top-notch, offering a wide variety of delicious options. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty meal or a light snack, they have something for everyone. Additionally, their coffee is always brewed perfectly, providing the perfect pick-me-up. Overall, I highly recommend Fred's Brasserie for its impeccable service, tasty food, and inviting atmosphere. It's a place where you can truly savor a delightful dining experience.

Been here many times and always been happy but this time found standards deteriorated. My daughter and I had same meals. Chicken Milanese for starter was simply breaded chicken nuggets with bit of artichoke and some rocket leaves, dry, not very appetising for £9. Main was fish stew which turned out to be few chunks of fish and some prawns with gnocchi in tomato soup! Bland, boring, left half of it, expected more for £18!! So £54 for 2 very average plates plus 2 glasses wine came to £75. Will not be returning. Mentioned disappointment to waitress who said she would inform chef but no response from anyone. Service and staff were fine, but would not recommend at these prices.

We reserved a dinner for Mother's Day in advance, but unfortunately, the restaurant was dark, cold, and lacked any ambiance or atmosphere. There were no special dishes for the occasion, and the menu was different from what was advertised on the website, with fewer choices. The food was bland, with an okay cheese soufflé for starters and average sea bass and steak for mains. The desserts were disappointing, with a waffle with frozen fruit compote and a maple pecan brownie that should be avoided. On the upside, the three staff members on duty were prompt in taking our orders. However, another couple at the hotel had to wait 30 minutes before complaining about the poor service, which then promp...

"I wasn't at blueberries with my friends since before covid so it was great to kick through the door and see how busy it is, fortunately I had a table for lunch. there is nothing special vegan on the menu, but they try to place their very hardest, in contrast to some places. I love a jacket kartoffel and choose her beats with various items from the menu, so ordered frying and avocado. katherine, one of the owners and cook came on our table and said she could suggest some other dishes and also vegan cheese if I did not the jacket kartoffel, but if I still did how about the topping of sonbs. what a nice geste and I will visit her on her offer of other options at the next. I noticed that they were able to offer vegan options for their Christmas card and also had two vegan, frozen meals to take away, moussaka and chili. my friends ordered a chicken and specksalat and a fish and chips and both said that eating was delicious with a mention that the chips were the best. my kartoffel was huge, with a lot of topping, served with beautiful salat and quickly grinded. the food is made fresh to order and blueberries is very popular as full it was on a cold Wednesday afternoon. there is also a small marquee on the side of the blueberries, which for those who are brave and sitting the weather and of course adds extra space. I really can't knock blueberries, they may not have vegan options (although a cake would be nice and I need to ask if they have plant milk as I always have my own. but they will always try to eat rusty something satisfying and with announcing can something like a vegan hotpot that I had before, what was brilliant."
