"We visited the Murraypark for dinner after a hunger-generating day of hillwalking in the local area. Being seated in the sunroom, it was slightly offputting to see the beer garden in a poor state of maintenance and the windows being dirty (complete with evidence of recent birdstrikes). Added to the sad state of the outside view, there was a rather inappropriate musical background being played far too loudly throughout the night. We often felt as if we were eating in a nightclub instead of a restaurant. The menu is basic, with a selection of steaks and a few other pub-grub type alternatives. Sadly, quite a few items on the menu were unavailable on the day we visited. The staff were friendly, well presented and attentive, but were unable to answer questions as to which drinks were available. This perhaps not their fault; as we did discover that the Murraypark has a vast selection of drinks in the bar area. Perhaps there should be a drinks menu provided at each table, alongside the wine list, so staff won 't have to try to memorise the entire bar menu. The food was a disappointment. The steak, pancetta and mushroom pie seemed to be lacking any mushrooms at all and the pancetta consisted of tiny little cubes that added no discernible pancetta flavour. The steak in the filling was great, perfectly flaking apart in texture and sitting in a rich and delicious gravy. The pie lid was a disaster. The puff pastry had not puffed at all and resembled a slab of concrete which had to be removed in a single slab and broken into pieces separately. One of our party had the mixed grill and was overall pleased with what they got (save for the liver, which was one of the unavailable items on that day). The rib-eye steak was described to me later as having been 40% gristle which is not great when you are selling yourself as a steak joint. The sauces served with the mixed grill and rib-eye had split and were watery. The Murraypark has three stars, and deserves every one of them."

Very nice food and service all on hot plates!!!!! We usually eat here rather than in the hotel diningroom and find the staff food and service very good for our large party.

The staff at Murraypark are extremely welcoming and warm. They are friendly and make you feel right at home. The rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean. Our large group felt like nothing was too much trouble for them. Speisekarte ansehen

Glass of red wine arrived and was white. Avoid the steak and mushroom pie as it was exceptionally salty. The prawn dish was tasteless. The burger was ok but over priced. Difficult to get a table but the place was half empty! Very disappointing.

I ordered the harissa lamb rump with couscous, which was undercooked and unpleasant. My partner had the balmoral chicken, which she struggled to finish. We both had the bland house cheesecake with chocolate sauce for dessert. Despite the friendly service from the staff, the overall experience was disappointing. We didn't want to cause a scene on our anniversary, so we made the best of it.

We went on a Friday evening with 2 young children (5 and 6) we got seated completely on our own but another family did come in to the restaurant about half an hour later. The atmosphere was relaxed, staff were lovely. The food was good, I had a burger which was tasty, husband had steak which was slightly over cooked but not an issue. Kids had hot dog and fish and chips. Everyone enjoyed the evening and went home with fully bellies! Speisekarte ansehen

We are just back from the Murraypark Hotel after spending a few days in this very pleasant hotel. We originally wanted to go to the Crieff Hydro but they are no longer dog friendly in the main hotel. We were most impressed by the friendly staff and nothing was too much bother for them all . Our room was very clean and had everything we required including dog bed blanket and dog bowl. We were able to take the dog into the bar with us for our meals. The food was very tasty and well presented. We look forward to going back when the weather is warmer so that we can take advantage of the outdoor beer garden.

Our family of four had a special meal out at this restaurant. There were two adults and two children, and the total bill came to £136 for three courses, three soft drinks, and one alcoholic drink. The atmosphere inside was nice. The food was generally good, but the dessert and the kids' mac'n'cheese (tagliatelle in bland cheese sauce) were not up to par. Three out of the four of us ordered the cheesecake of the day, which was vanilla and butterscotch. Unfortunately, the cheesecake had no flavor at all, which was very disappointing. We waited a while to speak to a staff member as the restaurant was busy, and we mentioned our concerns about the lack of flavor in the cheesecake. The server said...

"We stumbled across this place on the last night of a fortnight in Scotland and couldn 't be more glad that we did and that they had space. We were seated promptly (underneath the fan thankfully considering the heatwave), asked whether we 'd eaten there before (we hadn 't), had the menu explained to us (suggested 3 tapas per person) and then left alone briefly to consider the menu. Once ordered, drinks were delivered in a timely fashion, followed by breads dips to tempt tide us over until our tapas arrived. It wasn 't very quick, but I didn 't think it was unduly long either just the right length of time for non fast food that is being prepared freshly. And when it arrived, we were delighted as it was delicious! The only slight disappointment was that salted cod wasn 't available, but that was soon forgotten. My personal favourite was the poached chorizo in red wine with honey glaze, but we were happy with all of our options (patatas bravas, haggis balls, pinchas de pollo, spinach chickpea stew, haddock in red pepper sauce and Spanish tortilla the latter really made by the spicy tomato salsa on the side). 5 between the two of us would probably have sufficed, which would have meant I had space for one of the ice creams, but in hindsight, I 'm glad I didn 't. Excellent service, delicious food, our best meal of our holiday. We probably won 't be back (living in Birmingham and all) but definitely would if we were local."

"This place has all the potential for a 5 star experience and you may well have it by going here! Unfortunately, we did not and it's worth explaining why. For context, we didn't stay overnight just had a meal in the restaurant one night and went to the beer garden another. Restaurant: Food was generally very good and prices reasonable. I'd especially recommend the tempura chard if it's on the menu! The setting of the restaurant is also lovely. However, we ended up waiting about an hour between starters and main meal 2 people . We were advised approx 40 minutes into the wait that one of the mains was no longer available and a substitute would be provided there was some gnocchi improvised from potato mash involved. Service were on top of this though and did remove this item from the bill. So in summary, good elements involved but a couple areas that could do with attention. Beer garden: We went along to the beer garden to catch the rugby world cup final. This was sadly quite a disappointing experience that ended up with the limited attendance clearing out before half time . In short, coverage only started after national anthems. No sound other than via headphones ?? , which didn't work ?! . Pizzas were pretty tasty but the cheese was stringy as a ball of yarn positive with no cutlery or tissues provided negative . And at c. £16 per pizza, felt a bit cheated by the whole experience. The rooms themselves look lovely and I'm sure on a summer's day if you're looking to enjoy some drinks and a bit of food in a lovely setting, the Taybank probably covers exactly what you're looking for! They also run a traditional music session in the main bar on a Thursday evening, which is absolutely worth checking out! But I'm afraid for us, it's unlikely we would rush back for anything other than that."
