"I 've been living abroad for many years but I am actually from Livorno. So on a recent trip to my hometown I decided to pay Novelli a visit since it was a good memory from my youth I am 58, the restaurant was there as far as I can remember . I went the first evening by myself and got a lovely whole roasted fish with vegetables and potatoes etc. presented in its own charred oven paper very nice and very good, perfectly cooked, I am extremely watchful to how fish is cooked . While waiting I heard the attentive waiters talking about oysters so I ordered a taste and they were also lovely. I got a nice glass of wine, coffee and some dessert I can 't remember. Eventually I chatted with the waiters 'livornesi ' are very friendly, well most of them and promised I would come back the next evening, which I did, with a friend. This time was even better with charred squid and a nice frittura. The waiter said there was a wedding coming so he suggested a table far from the noise. Despite the busy wedding, service was quick and efficient. In the end the waiter recommended a dessert with sorbetto and Calvados lovely . We finished the evening with coffee and 'ponce ' a must have in Livorno and were even offered a 'grappa '!. The waiter said these were on him and upon checking the bill I noticed that in fact they did not charge coffee and liquors. Again a chat and some banter closed the evening. I can 't imagine a more friendly restaurant and attentive waiters, of course this came with very nice food. BTW the location is outstanding by the sea. Anyway, I some harsh reviews here so I felt compelled to write my own :"

il prezzo a mio parere è troppo alto, ma, data la posizione sul mare, può essere lì. ottimo cibo. servizio cordiale.

Con una vista incantevole come un quadro d autore abbiamo fatto un pranzo di coppia...cibo ottimo pesce freschissimo!

Locale molto curato e pulito. Si trova sul mare e se il tempo è bello la vista è molto bella. Cibo buono e ben presentato. Il pesce freschissimo è ben cucinato, molto buono anche il crudo. Rapporto qualità prezzo buona, ma un po' caro

ambiente, un po' troppi oggetti per il mio goi. servizio così, i camerieri sistematicamente dimenticato di servirci, nel senso che abbiamo chiesto 3 volte la carta dei dolci, 2 volte per ordinare i dolci, ecc antipasto molto deludente, ma molto buono paccheri, ok anche il fritto.
