london has a distinct lack of good Japanese street food. okan serves fluffy osaka style okonomiyaki. as okonomi means whatever they want, it is a highly personalized dish. I prefer a chewing pancake, but I still recommend it if they prefer another texture.

I may not remember the names of the dishes, but the flavors really impressed me! I enjoyed the authentic street food experience in the bustling Brixton Market. Everything was top-notch and the service was fantastic. A unique and charming independent restaurant with great character. Highly recommended!

Best dinner I’ve had in ages!! The plum wine and lime cocktail was one of the best parts. The fried rice ball with seaweed was insanely delicious. We often get deliveroo from Okan (for their Okonomiyaki but have decided to visit the store while visiting Brixton Market. I really love their location/vibe which really reminds me of the street style eateries in Japan. Surprisingly, we thought that their gyozas are the best among all the dishes we’ve tried (including eat-ins and takeaways! Warning: Portions in Okan are often huge!

The curry udon was outstanding - hearty and beautifully presented. I couldn't get enough of the onigiri - simple yet incredibly tasty! The restaurant has a charming street vibe with small chairs and tables. The staff was friendly, efficient, and quick. I can't wait to return!
