Self Service Platamone

Went there after a long stroll arround the city. Wild and loud (in a good way), we had take away to sit outside the restaurant (it has an AC) Everything looked delicious, we had Gnocchi with Pesto and Risotto with Prawns... Yum! For 4,50 each. We will be there again.

Can't say a bad word. A lot of locals eating here which is always a good sign. Affordable prices, tasty food. A little bit difficult to communicate if you don't know Italian. Canteen-like places where you can order various dishes (first dish, second dish, dessert etc. .

This place is great for a lunch. It is close to the beach and historic center. There is a lot of Italian food: pasta, lasagne, fishes and awesome octopus salad and many others! The opening hours are short (12:00 15:30) so it is better to be earlier there, before the Siesta time, because it is a popular place among natives. For sure, it is worth to eat there!

Very nice, big portions and great value for money! Me and my girlfriend both got the salmon with a different side dish. It was clear that the restaurant itself caters mostly to locals, but the staff was very helpful, patient and friendly. The food itself was darn tasty as well, everything was fresh, including our fruit desserts. Will eat here again during our holiday!

If you are looking for a place to meet all these requirements, look no further and come down to this self-serve place where locals go to eat. We order inslalata di mare and the flavor was phenomenal enough for 2, one of my surprises was the amount of octopus and how tasty that was. Baked potatoes were also good as well as the meat we ordered. A drawback is that you have to wait in line no more than 10 mins before the friendly staff gets to you.

Palazzo Platome is easily one of the best value restaurants in Sicily. Yes it's self service but if you're on a tight budget you're tired of relying on pasta and pizza here you can give in to your meat or fish cravings and avoid burning a hole in your pocket. secondi of roast pork €4.50; fried beef steak €7.50; sea bass €7; quality of ingedients Michelin star from the famous Trapani stone baked bread to Sicily's unrivalled fresh and seasonal veg. We popped into this cafeteria out of the pouring rain and near closing time, but the staff and owner where super helpful when we said we were vegetarians. They patiently pointed out all the vegetarian/vegan offerings and answered our questions. The manager gave us free bread with a smile...And when we went back for lunch the next day we were treated like loyal repeat customers ie free bread again. The food is tasty Italian of course and the place is busy during the lunch rush, but the line moves fast as most folks are regulars (I think). Fava beans were in season and delicious, not to mention eggplant, potatoes, and roasted peppers.
