Paws For Thought Cat Cafe

We visited with my granddaughter, who is 13 and we all had a fun time. Really friendly staff. Nice cakes and drinks. The cats were chilled out and very happy. My granddaughter loved Teddy. We will be visiting again.

My family had a wonderful time today having afternoon tea and getting to know the 8 cats who live in the cafe. The staff were lovely and we enjoyed the food. My Grandson wants to go again as he had such a lovely time.

We booked an afternoon tea for my nieces 11th birthday and I would highly recommend. The staff went above and beyond to decorate the table for us and really made it special! The food and service was fantastic and the cats are just gorgeous. We’ll definitely be back! Xx Speisekarte ansehen

Small elegant venue and clearly a must for cat lovers BUT if you are dairy intolerant it’s a disaster. Limited menu and weirdly every savoury option bar one is stuffed full of cheese but they go to the trouble of offering gluten free cake. It was also super expensive when taking the cover charge into account. Loved the cats but won’t return.

My second visit but first afternoon tea. The food was lovely and the staff kindly accommodated my fussy tastebuds. The chocolate cake was particularly good. But what makes this cafe so special is the wonderful calming atmosphere with the cats sleeping or roaming as they choose. They are clearly well looked after and have a wonderful range of places to sleep, hide, climb and play. For a cat lover looking for a relaxing and peaceful couple of hours break, I highly recommend the afternoon tea.

Visited for afternoon tea which we had booked a few weeks earlier. We had requested one set of the sandwiches to be egg free and unbuttered, but they applied this request to both parties, which was curious. As the food was a little slow in arriving, and we were hungry, we did not query it. Overall the ambiance was good, but sadly the cats were very sleepy, and not visible at all from where we were sitting; however you could wander round and stroke them in their various locations. Staff pleasant, café attractive. Ridiculously high charge for ‘cat cover’ at £5 per head. This meant that £15 of my £20 voucher went instantly. Stated in my booking that we (me and two children) were vegan, however, the only savoury vegan item was unavailable, as were 2 of the 4 vegan cakes. Ordered the chocolate brownies- they were tiny for the cost. There were only 7 or 8 cats spread thinly across the large cafe. (I have worked at a huge cat sanctuary and know that there are far more cats in need of a home. Plenty more could easily fit into the cafe, with and without interaction with customers). I will not be returning.

We visited just for something to do by having the cream tea and had a lovely time. The food was great, the staff were great, the cafe is great, and they 've got 8 cats too. Obviously the cats are in charge and do their own thing so they may be asleep or they may wander over for some fuss so there 's no guarantee that you 'll get to interact with any of the cats but on our visit I think we managed to get pets from 7 of them, with one asleep on a high shelf. You can 't disturb the cats but they do tend to wander like cats do and there 's a good chance you 'll get at least one come for a sniff. I booked this restaurant many months ago, for my sister 's birthday. She is a true lover of cats. However, on arrival we were shown to our table, our order taken for tea. Our tea arrived, at which point we were told there were no sandwiches??? We were offered an alternative, which was toasties/paninis. I felt this was not appropriate for afternoon, and all the paninis had cheese in, which I cannot eat. We asked why there were no sandwiches, and apparently there delivery man had not come. Why they did not purchase sandwiches from M&S or Waitrose knowing this I find difficult to accept?? It 's not rocket science?
