"Booked this for a nice long casual lunch before going to the theater. What a gem!! The ambiance was great, chilled and low key. we ate here on a Saturday early afternoon, but it soon filled up and had a queue out of the door waiting to be seated. This is the rustic Italian version of tapas Food was amazing with good portions and enough for 3 to share. Our waiter advised on what would comfortably serve 3 or if we should think about 2 portions.. We found so many wonderful dishes that we couldn 't possibly order and we ended up with a whole veggie selection. As a confirmed meat eater I can say I didn 't feel underwhelmed or unsatisfied. The chickpea 'meat ' balls are to die for (as is the chocolate salami..don 't ask just try it.. trust me! Service was friendly and informative with details on number of dishes to order, and ingredients given with a smile....and we asked a lot of questions....a lot! This has been added as a favourite and no longer will Bella Pasta or Pizza Express (or similar chain restaurants be getting my money now i know this little spot exists."

Enjoyed lunch with 3 friends at Polpo this week. Good advice about portions from staff who were attentive but not intrusive throughout our meals. We stayed chatting after lunch we hadn't seen each other for some time. Food very good as always.

Booked a table with a couple of kids after visiting the transport museum. Food was nice and service was good. Would definitely visit again. Didn't give a 5 star more because of the price, by far not expensive but did feel a little higher than expected for what we ordered.

Met old friends in here for Saturday lunch. Had to book as it gets busy. It was but we were able to linger over three courses without being rushed on. Excellent service and delicious food in an environment that is welcoming but unfussy. good selection of wines to accompany the dishes.

I was disappointed with this retaurant. It claims to be Venetian, I took an Italian friend there who has a place in Venice and it was a big letdown. Tables very cramped with not enough room for the plates and dishes and with hard uncomfortable chairs. It was very noisy and echoey. The glassware was smudged and looked dirty and was very basic, room and floor also not very clean. He chose some vegetarian dishes, and got a massive plate of rather tasteless roast potatoes with the odd sprig of rosemay and some very ordinary sliced courgettes with rocket and parmesan.
