"I visit the Cafe often at lunch times with friends, all of us over 70. The staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. I have never had a bad meal here, in fact only place in Romford to actually get a proper omelette, not the prepacked rubbish. No matter what you order there will not be any disappointment.Reasonably priced and certainly worth while for us to eat their at lunch times to avoid cooking in the evening. They will even have a laugh and joke with you once they know it will not offend. Always busy, but always served and seated quickly. Can't find anything negative to say, so for lunch, or breakfast this fits the bill. Works out with a main an drink in the region of £8-10 per person."

So many cafes in Romford and I choose the right one. Friendly, clean and great value. The woman taking orders and serving made all the difference today.

I absolutely adore this restaurant. I used to visit every day before work, but unfortunately, my shifts have changed so I can't come as often as I'd like. This is my favorite place to eat - it's so friendly and feels like home.

This restaurant is spotless! They are following all COVID safety measures, unlike many others. The food is consistently delicious, the service is excellent, and there is a wide variety of options on the menu. A great value overall. Welcome back, Poppins!

Came here after a recommendation and it was well deserved. The food was delicious and the service was really good. Food was delivered very quickly, but long enough for it to be cooked perfectly and it was very reasonably priced. Well worth a visit for a spot of lunch

The food at this restaurant is consistently delicious, no matter the time of day. The staff are friendly and provide excellent service. The fact that you often see familiar faces dining there is a testament to the quality of the food. Additionally, unlike many other restaurants, they have not raised their prices. I joined a friend at Poppins Restaurant in Romford, near the Liberty Shopping Centre. I have food allergies and Leyla was amazing. I had chosen something that I thought I could have. However, Leyla pointed out it might not be the best one. She was right! Her choice was yummy and pain free!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I will definitely go again xx

"this is a great place Thai restaurant that we unfortunately do not visit as much as we want. it has been an established part of my hometown hornchurch and serves fantastic Thai cuisine for many years. I am now glad to say that on Saturday we had a opportunity to visit and again eating was full of all the aromes they expect from this style of food. on Saturday we have walked on our fifteen minute walk to the heart of the city where they find the restaurant. we entered and received the usual friendly reception before we took our places. While we looked at the menu, we ordered a beautiful bottle of maison bergon 2020 a delightful French sauvignon blanc, full of citrus fruits, apple and lemongras aromas. unusual for us we decided to choose a set menu. we chose the Bangkok menu with an additional Thai salad. this started with the prawn crackers and sweet chili diving sauce. the starter was a plate consisting of chickensatai, spring rolls, huh on toast, chicken strips prawn tempura, which was all fresh, hot and full of fabulous thai aromen. we followed this with our additional plate of the yum nuar a fabulous spicy salate of cut grilled sirloin, swirl, early swirl, coriander, lemon juice, fish sauce chili flock, which I would definitely recommend. we now went to the main courses that would be with ingwer in black bohnensoße, chicken green curry, sweet with egg noodles. thai jasmin reis. the aromen and choir again complicated themselves perfectly and made every dish absolutely delicious. to finish they can have either tee, coffee or a few pots vanilla ice cream. this brought our charming Thai lunch to the end, and we hope to do again in the near future. I would highly recommend a visit here as eating is fantastic and there is always a good friendly service. also it is a long established part of our community and should be supported. many thanks for our fabulous lunch and look forward to seeing them all again soon."

"Very disappointed with food quality and service. We had booked a table for 13 people, 3 of which which were children. On arrival we were greeted by a lovely waitress who took us to our seats, but then proceeded to ask us to pass the plates and cutlery down the table to where the other guests were yet to arrive. So we set half of the tables, which is bizarre to ask a customer, but she was a lovely girl so it wasn 't a big deal at the time...until things went really downhill. We ordered 3 x £40 mixed grill platters which are meant to serve 3 4 people and asked for rice only, no bulgar. All 3 platters were brought with half rice and half bulgar; we asked the waitress to correct this, and she was apologetic and came back with a bowl of half rice and half bulgar again, we asked for rice on, so she went back and got a bowl of rice. Bearing in mind each platter is meant to serve 3 4 people, I struggled to serve the children an adequate portion they had 2 tablespoons of rice each; that 's how much rice was served with the large grill. My 10 year old niece then pulled out a long strand of hair from the kofteh she was about to eat; absolutely disgusting! Unsurprisingly, the cook wasn 't wearing a hair net, which I presume is standard?? I tried to be tactile and not draw too much attention to the situation to other eating customers, so quietly pulled the waitress aside and gave her the hair; she apologised and had another kofteh cooked (actually felt sorry for the girl, she looked mortified). The crunch came when we went to eat the chicken wings and baby chicken so many were raw pink and red raw meat! We told the waitress and she was insistent that it was cooked, but took it back believe me we have cooked chicken before and know what raw meat is. We were shocked when the same chicken was re cooked and then served back to us bear in mind, by this point the chicken had already cooled down from the first time it was cooked, centre was raw, and then re cooked and served again! There was no way we would 've touched it; also keep in mind that some of the chicken had come off different guests ' plates and were bitten into how were we supposed to know which piece was who 's?? So bizarre, I 've never had this happen, even in the cheapest small café. By this time to be honest we were off our food. The meat wasn 't great really; some was ok; the chicken shish was ok, the lamb chops were also ok; the chicken kofteh had no flavour; the kofteh was very greasy; the rice was wet. On a high note, the lahumajun was lovely and so were the dips and bread. When it came to the bill, we made it clear the chicken should be taken off, as none was eaten by anyone. When the waitress came and handed the bill over and was asked if the chicken was removed from the bill, her response was I 'm just a worker who else are we supposed to ask then? Why the attitude?! We had the right to complain after being served raw meat! The cook/owner then came over, leaned over me, with a plate of chicken hovering above my head and my face in his armpit, and started to argue with another guest that we didn 't ask for the chicken to be well done; no spacial awareness or respect for one 's space whatsoever. I didn 't realise we had to request for our chicken not to be raw; absolutely ridiculous. He knocked off £15 and for a £170 bill and the awful experience, I think that was insulting. He then knocked off a bit more, and we just accepted as wanted to get out of there. The same waitress came back and cleared the table, slamming the plates onto the trays no manners whatsoever and clearly showing she 's pissed off. Such a shame; all other guests witnessed this while they were trying to eat; could 've been totally avoidable. Why risk your reputation? I 've never had to ever make a complaint like this before, let alone write such a review. If you choose to eat here, check your meat is thoroughly cooked, or you 'll be poisoned!"
