"I had to go here several times before I decided to write a review, in case my first time was just a fluke and I was just lucky to have had a great baguette sandwich (chicken) and that I was hungry. I have now had several other sandwiches and I can say that all were delicious. The price: at £5 it is cheap for a City of London sandwich and they don't scrimp on the filling (each sandwich is so full of meat). Most of the time I struggle to finish my sandwich because it is so full of meant but I think the serving is just enough for the average person. The taste: yummy. The service: I have read reviews complaining about the service but I must say that all the servers were very nice, and they work very quickly. Their sandwiches are made to order: you choose which filling you want from the glass display counter (or the list on the board), whether you want it in a baguette (I always do) and what sauce you want (mayo, etc). I was overwhelmed the first time I ordered a sandwich that I had to ask the service staff what they would recommend, and after I followed their suggestion, they said I should let them know how it was next time I'm back it was a really nice touch of customer service. If you want to have an idea of what they offer and their prices, check their website, which has a menu. I always wonder how they manage to keep their prices low but I guess they make up for the number of customers. They also sell raw meat, of course. One time I wanted pork back fat but unfortunately, after they searched downstairs, they had none. They asked me to come back another day; and when I did my pork fat was waiting for me. It was not cheap, but it's high quality meat. About the queue. It is not that long. The reason for the queue is that the sandwiches are done right in front of you. During the times I was there, my longest wait in the queue from the time I fell in line to the time I got my sandwich was less than 4 minutes. I guess the queue is longer at peak lunch hours (I usually go after 1pm). I have recommended this place to my colleagues and have told them that they will not regret it."

I work locally so visit frequently. Can get a high quality meal-deal for the price of a pint! Superb location, superb food. Would 110% recommend.

Small butcher in pedestrian street. You will certainly queue at lunch time but it's worth. Home-made sandwiches, burgers for very honest price in London. Tender and quality meat, potatoes for a grab and go. The only negative point: closed on weekends and despite closure a 7pm, nothing left after 6pm.

Place looks decent However, rude staff! I came for the Wagyu Burger and I do not understand why there was bacon embedded in the cheese! Surely for many reasons, the bacon should be an add on basis. I kindly requested for one to be done without the bacon and they did not want to do it Walked out empty handed wont ever come back.

I have been frequenting this restaurant for breakfast and lunch for the past 6 years, but I have noticed that they have started to skimp on the fillings of their baguettes while also raising the prices. It is disappointing because the food is actually quite good, but it is frustrating when you expect a satisfying lunch and end up feeling hungry. I believe I will be looking for another place to eat from now on. Speisekarte ansehen

This restaurant is a hidden treasure. Instead of buying your lunch or breakfast from a cafe or store where you don't know the quality of the meat, why not go to a butcher and have some delicious food prepared right in front of you? There's a reason why there's always a line at this place, but it's definitely worth the wait as it moves quickly. Be sure to order quickly though, as the staff are busy but that adds to the experience.

I went to The Butchers for lunch where they offer burgers, baguettes, and meatboxes in addition to fresh meats. I particularly enjoyed the Philly Cheese steak baguette, which was delicious, had a good portion size, and was well-priced at £6. The burgers were also quite tasty, priced at around £5-6, and the baguettes with various meats ranged from £5 to £7. Overall, it's a great spot for a work lunch takeaway. I highly recommend it!

It 's one of my favorite places in town, definitely a hidden gem! During lunch time the Portford turns into a fast food restaurant with very high quality food. They offer a variety of meats and always serve you with a smile. I really like the guys behind the counter, the Porterford has a very unique and original vibe. The queue is usually quite long, but they work very efficiently and you never wait more than 20 minutes. Price is unbeatable in London, £5 for very fresh and good food! Speisekarte ansehen

Was really looking forward to grabbing a bite to eat from this place, although I think I'll be giving it a wide berth from now on!! Definitely not the same as it used to be, i was working in the area for many years and really enjoyed the food from here. Unfortunately it's gone down the same road as al the other little independent shops and started hiking up prices. I just paid £6 for a four piece meat box meal, not even enough food there for the youngest child, and you don't get a great choice either, when I started going in there 13 years ago, they didn't have the box meal thing, and you could choose everything in the meat counter. Real shame, but appears greed has took over here!!

You know those times when people rave about something being really good and you just think to yourself 'Ah, shut up, you 're just exaggerating '!? ThIS IS IT, minus the exaggeration part obviously!!! I almost fell of my chair back at the office, its that good. I came across the shop by chance and saw a queue outside around lunchtime so i got near to get a glimpse of what the fuss was all about. From a distance I then saw red meat in all shapes and forms at the counter and almost left. I 'm so glad i didn 't. I saw a few baguettes being made in front of me while the whole time thinking 'Do they taste as good as they look though!? ' Then I lifted my head up and saw their prices. £5.50, £5.50,...

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
