Went to this pub Saturday afternoon for our first time! The pub is beautiful inside and the garden was well looked after! Atmosphere was chilled and relaxed. We only had a drink but will definitely be back

My first time visiting here its a lovely looking pub inside out, the staff are all friendly helpful (knowledgeable about the food, menu drinks) service was quick delicious, I had to send my pie back as cold but rectified quickly. Will happily return with other friends family

Great night …. Chaperoned a young special needs couple on their first date. Sat separately just in case but there was no need! Sienna, Toby and Holly were fantastic they looked after us all. We’ve been stopping by for a drink or two on Saturday or Sunday. Went here for a meal which was a treat from our son. A bit slap dash here and there. Service was rushed, drinks were slow. Meals were ok. My steak was tough. I was still eating and the waitress started clearing .. made me feel uncomfortable. Not what it used to be

Absolutely terrible value for money food. £7.00 for a sandwich which had no garnish and no chips/crisps. The same McMullen’s pub less than 10 minutes away has a much better menu with sandwiches for £6.95 with chips and garnish included! Apparently McMullen’s have decided this is a “destination pub” which obviously translates as ripping people off. I feel very sorry for the staff who are lovely and the pub garden is wonderful but sadly I won’t be eating there again until they change their menu.

Ordered a vegan burger and my friend ordered a non vegan burger. When the waitress brought the food over they looked similar so we asked which one was the vegan one. She replied “the unappetizing one is the vegan one the one that looks the most unappetizing” and laughed. Both I and my non vegan friend thought this was very rude and shocked us. She said it again when she brought over the sides and we just couldn’t believe what we were hearing. Such a backward attitude has no place in this day and age and no food vegan or not should be described by a member of staff in that way. Sackable offense in our eyes. Won’t be going back. We have driven past this pub quite a lot over time and thought we would try it out. There is plenty of parking, lots of seats outside, and when went in there was a nice selection of seating indoors too. We ordered a mix of food and the roast was really good, genuinely really tasty and enjoyed it. Only one criticism is that although the staff aren't rude at all, it would have been nice to be welcomed a bit more warmly, and just a conversation of asking how we are etc goes a long way, especially as they weren't even busy, however all our food and drinks were taken and delivered problem free, like I said everyone was fine, but being welcoming and friendly adds a lot to you experience anywhere,...

We went here for a night out in a small group of four. We had drinks before dinner and the pub is a very welcoming place for just that. The fireplace creates a cozy atmosphere and the staff were very smiling and accommodating. The pub is visited by all ages and that makes it even nicer to visit. For dinner we had the shrimp pili pili in garlic (good but I would have liked more garlic actually). One of us had the bread rusted salmon which was made to perfection. Another had the Caesar Salad and it was also fresh and nice. The third person had three dishes from the sharer options and everything was nice. I am a retired Corporate Banker, who have many friends and ex colleague 's in the Banking Sector: We meet bi monthly, usually moaning (believe me, as Bankers always do! either meeting in the Hitchin area, (Millstream Pub, another McMullens where colleagues live, or around this area or Enfield, another mid way between friends. So this was as title, to see whether the 'Prince ' might be suitable; we had dined very successfully for all previously, in the Goffs Oak and also the Cricketers in Enfield..just looking for a possible new venue.
