Purbani - Speisekarte

The food was terrible at this restaurant. The naan bread was burnt and the chicken in the curries was tough and had a terrible taste. This was my first time ordering food from here and it will definitely be my last.

I have been eating curry for a while now and recently had one of the most delicious curries I have ever tasted at Purbani. Each dish had its own unique flavor and was really delicious. If you order chicken dishes, I recommend opting for the chicken Tikka as the plain chicken can sometimes be a bit dry.

Oily bland food that was barely edible. Ordered takeaway through deliveroo and when the food arrived the bag was drenched in oil and the containers were dripping with oil. Would never order again. Muttar paneer should not be sweet. All dishes lacked salt, seasoning and flavour. Would not recommend this place at all.

Although being a meat eater, knowing this place is the most lovely place to go to get good curry in Guildford with lovely hosts, I'm really getting to like the vegetable dishes. There's something about vegetable curry that makes a nice blend. Also much the same is true with the biriyani. Looking forward to trying the others too!

Some context: I adore curry. Indian takeaways are my favourite type of food, and they are very dear to my heart. So imagine my surprise when I move to Guildford, decide to check out my local Indian, and am promptly served the best curry I can remember (and my partner was similarly enamored). Everything about the meal was lovely, and I will certainly be making this a regular treat!

We ordered 2 x starters, some poppadoms and sundries, 2 x curries, 1 x rice and a naan each. Wrong sundries arrived (refunded by deliveroo). Bahjis and Samosas were really good. My curry (lamb pasanda) was too thick and the lamb was bad quality. The rice and naan bread were quite small portions compared to what I’m used to. Everything was semi cold despite my partner picking up from around the corner

Purbani was our regular Indian takeaway for the better part of the year we lived in Guildford. Since we moved away we've been desperately searching for another takeaway to fill the void left in our hearts, but to no avail. Whenever we're in that part of the country we make it a mission to stop by and pick up an order it's seriously that good. The chicken tikka jalfrezi and the lamb roadside biryani are genuinely *incredible* and I couldn't recommend them more. Service with a smile doesn't hurt either!

Purbani is almost certainly the best Indian restaurant I have ever visited- the food is delicious, with hearty portions and incredible flavours. I would recommend the street food lamb biryani to anyone considering the restaurant- it's a little spicy, but the tarka dhal is buttery and delicious, and the chunks of tikka lamb are flavoursome and tender. The food is consistently ready on time, delicious, and a reasonable price. Every other takeaway my partner and I have tried in Guildford has paled in comparison with this restaurant; you won't be disappointed by this place.

We are thrilled to have Purbani as our local Indian restaurant. The food is consistently excellent, with a good range of dishes available from mild to very hot. In the 10 years that we have been dining here, we have only encountered one or two dishes that lacked in spices. Everything on the menu has been delicious, except for the Balti and regular Biryani which we found disappointing. We highly recommend trying their Indian Street Food Mumbai Biryani and Tarka dhal, both of which are delicious. Some of our other favorites include Korai Methi Gosth, Xacuti, Korma, Dansak, Pathia, Captain Naga, and Jalfrezi. The Naan breads are also very tasty.
