Red Ox Steak House - Speisekarte

This restaurant was within walking distance of our apartment, and we went there twice. It has a white-tablecloth side and a casual side. The casual side had daily specials, which were well prepared and very reasonably priced.

Das Essen war gut, der Service in Ordnung und der Ort gemütlich ..... aber selbst wenn keins von alldem wahr wäre, die Tatsache, dass dies das einzige Restaurant in der Nachbarschaft ist, das sonntags Essen serviert, macht es zu einem Muss!

Die neuen Besitzer haben den Ort aufgefrischt. Das Personal (viele davon arbeiten schon seit 20 Jahren hier) ist verjüngt und die Steaks und Burger sind viel besser. Ein schöner Ort, gutes Fleisch und leckere Desserts. Ein gelungener Abend! Speisekarte ansehen

We've been there last Sunday (15.01.17) we were a table of 6 and we've waited more than one hour to be served as they were short of personels and had a mixed up with our order. It was my first time their and the food was okay but I don't know if we would go eat there again.

I used to go to this place quite often some 30 years ago, but haven't been back as it is no longer on my beaten track. Today was the 1st time back there for a lunch with a friend. The food was very good. The beef burgers served to a nearby table looked absolutely fantastic.Staff were friendly but lack a bit in experience.The decor is average. The "new" section lacks atmosphere.But the food outweighs the few downsides.

We were looking for a place that served steak late in the night (10PM), the sun had just come down and we were hungry. We found this place in google and went there. The staff were very courteous and respectful. We ordered the 4 week stale Tenderloin (might have mixed up the order of the words) medium rare and it was excellent, had a side dish of fries and veggies and it was all i needed to fill me up for the night. This is an overlooked establishment right in the heart of Champel, not far from the Claparède TPG stop. It is quite expensive but offers beautiful meat sourced from the Boucherie du Molard located in the rue du marché and an institution in this town.The service is from a bygone era and you can feel the push to make you order more drinks which can get a little annoying. But then again given the emptiness of the place most nights you have to empathise with the waiters who are just trying to survive I guess.The renovated side of the restaurant was a huge mistake as it makes it look cheap and uninviting. Ich bin hier auf Empfehlung des Hotelbesitzers in Genf gegangen und wurde definitiv nicht enttäuscht. Das Restaurant ist ziemlich groß mit mehreren Bereichen, was es nicht groß wirken lässt. Es hat eine offene Küche in der Nähe des Eingangs, sodass man sofort einen guten Eindruck von einer sauberen Küche bekommt. Die Speisekarte sieht schön und interessant aus, aber ich habe mich für einen Burger entschieden, da es schon etwas spät war und ich nicht viel Fleisch essen wollte. We were on the lookout for a great steak and we're too tired to go too far from home. Having walked passed this place a million times we thought we should try it. The food was excellent, no fuss straight classic fare from a geneva institution. The restaurant has booth seating which I can imagine was once a burgundy velour but has since been remodeled - what a shame! We ordered chateaubriand which at chf 98 for two was a pretty standard to low price for Geneva. It was delicious, perfectly cooked and on this quiet holiday evening, it was clear the chef was happy to cook this classic piece instead of the ever popular hamburger.
