great restaurant with very attentive staff. we had the apfelstrudel with a brandy coffee and it really hit the place. felt very decadent, but with reasonable praises, worth a visit.

Während unserer Reise in die Gegend von Schönbrunn machten wir hier Halt für ein leichtes Mittagessen und waren mit der Auswahl an Speisen und den Preisen zufrieden. Der Service war schnell und höflich. Ich würde den Ort empfehlen.

The location is great, it is just inside of the summer palace gates and you have the option of sitting outside and enjoying the view. We had a very nice server who spoke English quite well. The apple strudels were warm and fresh and simply delicious. Would highly recommend. Speisekarte ansehen

Lovely, I had a coffee and a selection of cakes (3), my wife had tea and the same cake as me and my son had apple strudel and a chocolate. We sat outside and enjoyed the warm weather, but the inside is very nice and worth a visit. I did not think it was over priced due to the location of the Café'. Staff were pleasant and I did not feel rushed. I recommend a stop here if you are spending some time in the Palace and gardens.

this is the nicest looking of many eateries situated in the grounds of Schonbrunn Palace. It looks and serves food like hundreds of cafes dotted around Vienna. Same sussage same schnitzel and even the same looking cakes every where you go. I wish individual restaurants start to use a bit more individualism rather than stick to what they perceive to be the stereo typical expectation of vienese cuisine by tourists. The cakes are advertised to be from cafe Landtmann but they tasted pretty average

Das Café Residence befindet sich im Schloss Schönbrunn, hier werden Live-Demos der Strudelherstellung gemacht, was ich leider verpasst habe. bestellte ihren berühmten Apfelstrudel mit Vanillecreme und hatte nicht damit gerechnet, dass er darin schwimmen würde. Sicherlich übertrieben, aber zum Glück ist es nicht süß. Also ist es okay. Der Fadenreis ist auch cremiger als Filo-Blätterteig, diese Variante gefällt mir besser. hatte auch einen heißen Akkord, da das Wetter es erforderte. Der Service war freundlich. Speisekarte ansehen

A welcome stop off after booking tickets for the tour of the Palace. We had to wait for over an hour so thought we would have coffee and a snack. The café has very welcome shaded outdoor seating as well as the beautiful indoor restaurant. We had coffee and Viennese iced coffee which was lovely as well as a delicious appelstrudel and a mango mousse cake which was light as a feather and delicious. The staff were friendly, efficient and attentive. Well worth a visit if you are going in to see the Palace or the gardens..

I've been to many museum restaurants over the years and the food is usually mediocre. We found the food here was excellent. I had the Hapsburger and it was one of the best I've had in a long time. Properly prepared at medium rare. Many people had a salad and they were also very pleased. The sausage also got high ratings.The Staff was very accommodating to special orders and requests. Prices were probably a little higher than you would pay at other restaurants in the city. But I'm sure the food was as good if not better.

After touring Schloss Schonbrunn we had not expected to have a large lunch but I saw something on the menu at Residenz that I had to have. Schunklflecken is noodles (spätzle) with butter, cheese and bits of ham. I had to have it because my Czech-American grandma made it for me when I was a kid and it was the ultimate comfort food. It was not exactly the same at Residenz, but it was darn good. My wife was wise and had a light ham sandwich which she said was good. They had some great looking desserts, but we passed.The outdoor setting was very nice. Service was efficient. This is a good place to relax after your palace tour. Speisekarte ansehen
