"I’ve been happily eating at Rocky Bottoms for the last 5 years. This visit was unfortunately and probably the last. Possibly a misunderstanding with the serving staff, but definitely not a good experience. I booked via Open Table (including notification of ‘special occasion’ and all was good. We were seated in the restaurant… and just left. Nobody came to ask us for drinks, food, anything. The staff were more concerned to clearing the next table rather than taking our order. Then they brought in a party of six, sat them down and went ahead and took their order. At this stage I suggested that the staff should have taken our order first. Unfortunately this did not go down well. From that moment on it didn’t feel at all like a ‘special occasion’… which was actually my birthday. I had even checked the box when I originally booked on Open Table. Basically the food was delicious, the table was lovely, but the ‘special service’ was lousy. The final straw was when we were reprimanded for calling out the service situation (after we paid the bill, including the service charge . Being told off on your birthday is definitely not what you expect to happen, ever. Rocky Bottoms? Watch out for the Crabs! "

Lovely casual place. Good value and generous plates. Out of town but worth the trip, as a bit different. Husband and I loved it. Reccommend smoke mackerel to start buy you may wanna share if you don't want to spoil your main. Great service.

Excellent family run seafood restaurant . We had visited the crab shack before and loved the food. Absolutely first class , fresh seafood , staff were brilliant , setting was perfect overlooking the ocean. Will definitely be recommending it and will visit again soon.. 21/11/22
