"Now before you all start having a go, let’s set the scene. Mother’s Day is a special day. I understand it means it will be busier than normal and therefore the service may not be the usual. But if you state you can accommodate 60 diners then you should accommodate . We booked our table weeks in advance of Mother’s Day. We did anticipate an Irish Parade happening in Manchester sonset off a bit early to adjust for it. We arrived at 11:50 and our table was booked for 12:15. We didn’t expect our table to be ready but to our surprise, it was. The table was stuck on the end barely big enough for two let alone two adults and a two year old girl. The Mother’s Day menu was presented and we ordered a starter and main as well as drinks. The length of time for them to arrive was nearly 40 minutes. The mains took another 35 minutes to arrive. Keeping a two year old happy for an hour is good enough but after this time our daughter had enough. She was hungry and restless. When the food eventually arrived, the portion of a roast beef lunch was essentially two potatoes a sprig of broccoli, a mini carrot a tiny Yorkshire pudding and a tiny piece of roast beef. We did want to have a special occasion experience but the length of time spent waiting really spoilt our meal. We don’t mind paying good money,if the food and the experience is good . To be honest this was neither good food or a good experience. It was expensive and overrated. This is sad, especially as we had read the recommendations given by Opentable. Lesson learned I guessz"

not recommended. faceted rosy lee tee room tonight for my daughter hen party very disappointing contest, previously booked for 18 people, it was 2 hours before we were served with our food and another half an hour before they were for a couple who forgot them. they ruined the evening that can never be repeated. I do not recommend this place

There were stories about this concept' being rolled out to other cities after Manchester Venues are currently being looked at in Leeds and York apparently which is totally baffling to me, though if the concept they're going for is good but not great pub food then they've absolutely nailed it. I honestly couldn't tell you what hole Rosylee fills or what really sets it apart from 100 pubs across the North of England serving very similar food.

The food was faultless. Goat’s cheese bon bons lightly seasoned with black pepper and made moreish with lemon zest were perfectly bread crumbed, and the accompanying twice-cooked chips (forgive me, I’m northern) were fat, crisp and golden. It’s enough to tempt me back, and having read other decent reviews, will be returning soon. The iced tea cocktail was less successful, on account of a heavy hand with the sugar syrup, obliterating the exciting breakfast tea, rhubarb and lemon juice flavours promised, but the feedback was taken on board, which is always a good sign. first hot weekend of the year, so the outdoor seating area attractiw. there were no employees to welcome and sit, so we had to ask for a menu and waited 15 minutes to take our order. in the time spanned (40minutes) we waited for our drinks to arrive, at least two tables gave up their command and went out. we stayed and were rewarded with eating two salad dishes served separately, another time gap - wait after 1 hour. while eating itself was beautiful; fresh, well presented, and good quality, it is unusual and quite regrettable organization to wait this long in half a full restaurant that seemed adequately busy.

above average afternoon and dangerous staircase. visited this place for a hen afternoon tea party today, arranged by friends. the farewell itself was very average. some of the party were vegetarian and the sandwiches consisted of a bad mix, like what tasted like tomaten ketchup with a few rockets. this place has apparently never heard of the concept of cheese or egg sandwiches or in fact of the great series of non-meat alternatives that could be provided. the part of the sandwiches was also very small. the scones were quite stoney and hard, the chocolate on the eclair was terrible. the tea selection was very limited, maybe 4 or 5 sorts with the most exotic kind of...read more

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."
