Been to rubys tonight it never disappoints brought my brothers and there partners tonight. Always feel welcome.meal was outstanding

The restaurant was short-staffed, causing a delay of over an hour for our food to arrive. This significantly impacted our dining experience and we are not likely to return anytime soon.

What has happened to what once used to be fantastic food from Ruby’s? Our food arrived lukewarm, the chicken was dry, hard contained pieces of bone and gristle. Two meals were sadly inedible.

Really disappointed! Usually love this place but just had an bad experience this time, even though we booked a table in advance we had to wait for 20 minutes then waited ages to be served, the food was not up to usual standard, we were not offered another drink, dessert or coffee Very disappointed

I felt for the single waiter responsible for seating guests, taking orders and clearing tables clearly too few staff on for a full New Year's Eve and he was run off his feet. After waiting for 30mins without receiving the drinks menu, let alone ordering, we left at 9.15pm. Would not go to the trouble of pre booking a table here again.

Ruby’s has a takeaway and a restaurant in Bishop’s Stortford. I recently ordered a takeaway from the Hockerill restaurant. The meal was not great. Our lamb korma was nice. The onion bhajis were really greasy. They came with mint sauce but no salad. The bhindi bhaji was stringy, undercooked and the position was really small. I was unimpressed with the meal. Fortunately there are several other Indian restaurants and takeaways nearby and I will use them instead next time.

We ordered takeout, but nearly 2 hours later our food still hadn't arrived. After calling to inquire, we were told it would be at least another 20 minutes and that we would receive a callback with an update and a potential solution for the inconvenience. However, we never received a call back. When we called again, we were informed that our food was on its way and that we would receive a 10% refund on our order, which was over £100. The food finally arrived, but it was cold. Despite trying to call and speak to a manager, we were unable to reach anyone. This experience completely ruined what was supposed to be a weekend treat for our family.

The service at this restaurant was very rushed, despite there being only three other tables of customers. It was unclear why there was such a hurry. The dips for the poppadoms were already on the table when we arrived, followed by three onion bhajis. We ordered three chicken dishes - Chicken Madhubala, chicken tikka, and chicken tikka masala. Unfortunately, all three chicken dishes had tough and chewy meat, indicating poor quality chicken used. We also ordered two pilau rice, sag aloo, one ginger beer, two large draught Kingfishers, and two small draught Kingfishers, bringing the total to £107. Sadly, we will not be returning to this restaurant as it was very overpriced.

I booked a table for 8pm as a special treat for my partner we can't go out oftern the last time was for her birthday inJuly. We arrived at 7.50 pm were to sit down in the bar area and wait , 25 minutes later still waiting for a table eventually at 8.30. It took another 20 minutes before someone took our drinks order then we were left another 20 minutes before they took our food order. The food finally arrived and I was shocked it was nothing like the quality i have had before at Ruby's I asked the waiter about the rice that looked dried out rubish and certainly not what it was the many times i have been before he just grumbled at me .
