"Called this morning for coffee with a friend. The restaurant was quite busy but didn't have to queue long. Ordered a tea cake which we asked to be toasted. We took our drinks to the table and waited for the tea cake to be served. Ten minutes later we were still waiting. Other people were served around us, so after another 5 minutes or so I went to the counter to ask about the delay, as our drinks were no longer warm. The young guy said they had been very busy with orders and would check. No offer of drinks to be refreshed. A few minutes later our tea cake arrived, however our drinks were cold and almost finished. Really not impressed. Sainsburys in general seems to have taken a downturn, with less staff around and many shelves in the main store left empty. Apparently the powers that be think this is improving customer experience. I'm sorry guys you are so wrong!"

Coffee usually good but the service is dependent on which members of staff are on. It must be said that most are of a sunny disposition who look after customers well. A few need a personality implant but it I suppose one must expect that these days.

After shopping on a Saturday, we have coffee and a toasted tea cake. The staff are friendly and offer great service. Their prices are also excellent. I would highly recommend stopping for a coffee break. The only negative are the lazy folk that do not clear their table.

We chose to go to buy a quite expensive item here because I had some vouchers redeemed from EON as part of my paiments. Got the item and went to the checkout only to be told that they dont take vouchers. Surely they should honour vouchers if there name is on as accepting them. Thats my last visit. I am a big Sainsbury's fan but this one leaves a fair bit to he desired. There are often problems with availability and quality in the fresh vegetable department, the butchery and fish counters are not particularly attractive and more often than not, there is a serious problem with the checkouts so slow and the attendant free checkouts are often not working, like today. They really do need to pull their socks up.

The disabled car parking is situated at the far end of the car park, while I note that there are an abundant number of parking spaces reserved for mothers and kids they probably buy more than the elderly and disabled.I thankfully am neither disabled or elderly but if the car parking spaces were swapped around there would possibly be less over weight young mothers with obese offspring.Thank you Sainsbury for being so thoughtful.

"Tl;dr this chef and this team are on their way to a Michelin star, so get a reservation while you can. We visited here Saturday 29, where we enjoyed the tasting menu by current chef John Hollywood. Their tasting menu is averagely priced, comparable to Dublin’s Bastible, with 6 courses actual, and plenty of wine. Aside from the setup, nothing else is average. The staff at Boat House are second to none. The atmosphere is similar to Hof van Cleve, with chirpy, witty staff happily serving customers and following the mood of the table. Their sommelier and wine pairing is particularly special, with each bottle subverting the trend, unexpected, but without compromising on quality (see: Bastible cannot figure out wine). Their sommelier is a wine nerd who’s happy to go into as much depth as you want, but you feed off the passion between courses, which is a really great dynamic between the staff and the table this is rare, usually only achieved at top star restaurants. I’ve never found this in the island of Ireland. The food itself is the perfect mix of foraged from land and sea, each dish testing and surprising you, but with some classics mixed in (beef Barolo your reward for trusting the chef). On the whole, the menu seems designed to subvert comfort you in equal measure, and succeeds with every course. You won’t find the same level of experimentation from many of the Italian tasting menus on the circuit, but that comes with the assurances of consistent quality and a journey that’ll never let you down, where subversive wine pairings inject a level of exciting chaos without risking the food. Between the atmosphere, staff, and chemistry at the table in the kitchen, a trip to Boat House can be held in the same regard as some of the world’s top Michelin star restaurants. They’re on the way. They have the ingredients, whether you know it or not. Better start those birthday reservations now."
