"I'm so glad a friend of mine who lives in Paris introduced me to Savannah Cafe and its lovely owner, Richard! I liked Savannah Cafe so much that I visited twice during my 2-week trip to Paris. The location of the restaurant is on Rue Descartes, close to Rue Mouffetard. The area right around Savannah Cafe is not overly crowded, and it is quite enjoyable sitting out front enjoying your meal. I sat inside the restaurant during my second visit, and was glad that I did as I was able to converse with Richard about his home country of Lebanon, and also listen to the music Richard has playing in the background (Richard has great taste in music!). The food was delicious! Being a vegetarian, I had the spinach dumplings with salad to start (you must try these!), and the vegetable and fruit curry as my main course. The curry was so good that I actually had it both times I visited. It was perfectly spicy for my taste (a bit of a kick, but did not overpower the flavor). The brownies are good too, as was the orange blossom infusion. I had both red and white wines during my two visits - some wines were Lebanese, and some were French. All were wonderful. And don't worry if you don't speak French because Richard speaks perfect English. So if you want a great meal in a beautiful location where you will be treated like family, then definitely seek out Savannah Cafe. When I return to Paris, this will be where I will have dinner my first night back in town."
