Shane’s on Canalside

Really lovely food, with fresh interesting ingredients. Attentive and friendly service and a good atmoshpere. Definitely one to return to.

Good: lots of game on the menu. Bad: game being overcooked and dry. Worse: waiting staff letting a tableful of mouthy gobshites ruin the ambience.

Nice restaurant, we enjoyed the meal and drinks. The service was a bit patchy (feels like the staff are very new) but friendly. We will come again.

The restaurant is located in a great spot, especially for those visiting the Olympic stadium. The service was good and the food was unique with a great menu for kids. The setting next to the canal is lovely, especially when the weather is nice.

Really really yum. The dishes creatively combined ingredients and were all delicious. Nice atmosphere and the cocktails, for a fiver, were outstanding (good kick too recommend the ginger one). Do it on a night out with friends, date or whatever other occasion you might want to have a top dinner on.

A find. Hidden away in a corner of the Olympic Park overlooking the canal, this is a great (new) place. Service is excellent with the waiters friendly and knowledgeable both regarding the food and wine and are happy to make recommendations and suggestions and aren't offended if you ignore these either! Good value and well sized portions.

Took my husband here for birthday dinner. Food and service was excellent, and a great wine list. The place had a nice cosy feel with slightly mismatched decor and would be just as good for couples or groups. Pretty quiet for Saturday night but the location is currently under development so it's not somewhere people would stumble across if they weren't looking for it. My advice is become a regular before it gets discovered by the masses! If we lived in London we would.

We thought Shane's was okay but not outstanding. The rabbit burgers were tasty but could have been warmer. The regular burgers were good and the buttermilk chicken brunch was enjoyable, but the portion size was small. The lemon posset was a delicious dessert and we also liked the cheese board. The mocktails and beer were decent. The service was friendly, but we were disappointed by the diluted soap and the fact that the hand towels ran out in the bathrooms. Overall, it's a nice spot for a casual meal.

I stopped by for a quick meal before the Athletics World Championships, knowing that Westfield would be crowded, and I was pleasantly surprised by the great deal we found. The restaurant is quirky and interesting, with a nice location. The staff were friendly, especially Shane who greeted us. My brother and I enjoyed craft beer, while my daughter had a mocktail.
