"We’re local, we were turned away by a very snooty waitress at the barn, to what appeared to be a very empty barn, to be told they were only taking bookings (we’ve never had an issue with walkins before), in the meantime we tried to get a takeaway for the children in our party from the barn who were very hungry and getting restless, this was turned down too. We walked away, booked online for the pub (next door, same operators). Why wasn’t this open given to us… in the end we had to leave due to it taking too long to get seated by which point the children were far too hungry and we decided to leave for quicker food. We’ve taken many guest to the barn in the past and enjoyed the experience. Staff training needs improvement. We went to a pub in the centre of Henley in the end where nothing was too much trouble for them, offering a high chair and accommodating a last minute booking."

"I can’t fault the staff and landlord I made them aware of my father in laws dementia and they were fantastic and kind. There’s a quirky atmosphere in the pub which was brilliant for my children who are into lego and Star Wars as there’s lots of memorabilia to look at and talk about Food lovely but the soup was tepid so could have been a bit warmer next time please Burgers, scampi, tuna nicoisse all lovely We will return definitely We sat inside which was perfect for us but the outside area looked lovely as well Thankyou for a lovely lunch"

"We made a reservation for two for lunch at this well-known local restaurant. Although it is located outside of Reading, it is easily accessible by public transportation, which is convenient if you want to enjoy a drink with your meal. The service was excellent, with friendly staff and prompt service between courses, without feeling rushed. The food was quite interesting, we started with the Crab 3 Way which was surprisingly delicious, especially the Crab Brulee. For our main courses, we chose the Venison which was flavorful with a tasty sauce and crispy vegetables. The Brill was a bit disappointing as the portion was small and neither of us found it to be exceptional, it was decent but not outstanding. For dessert, we opted for the 4 Selection Cheese board which offered a variety of cheeses, a tangy chutney, and a selection of breads, biscuits, and crackers. We would likely return for a special occasion in the future."

"at a house, only the road for a week, we had the pleasure to visit the rising sun several times. can not say enough about how great this place is! excellent eating everything from fish and chips to Sunday roast to some of the best wobble rings I ever had. super friendly staff, all offer great service. unexpected entertainment in open microphone night on Saturday night to play evening on Monday and all with the additional bonus to be able to go comfortably home! cat, the owner, let us welcome each time we visited. in any case they visit when they are in the opposite. we plan to stay this year and look forward to the return to the rising sun!"

"Sunday and night in the cherry tree inn, what can I say differently than what and absolutely unexpected tasty. large selection of beer and weeping that are safe. eating was absolutely fantastic from what I think was a new menu. dan and cheryl was very welcoming and friendly during my short impromptu stay. the rooms are very nice clean modern rooms. they are a super comedy. I was late to get to work this morning. the breakfast was once again a very nice full English cooked to order in the house chef. the pub and the opposite are just incredible. perhaps one of the most beautiful parts of the uk I had to visit this! thank you."
