handy small coffee shop with a basic menu and cake. cheap and gluten-free. bookshop is a sniper group and has handy greeting cards with Christian botanicals for all occasions.

A friendly small cafe selling gluten free cakes and reasonably priced coffee. It's off the main roads so perhaps not easy to find. Look to the right of the Inn at Home on Bartholomew street. It also has a Christian bookshop. I try to go in whenever I'm in Newbury.

because the new normal every day has changed so much .. the bookstore is still available on the line too. the coffee is still great, but they need to check which days and which times so much has changed .. worth finding out if .. real coffee at a fair price also .. not so much available on the snack page at this time. personal friendly and helpful ..

this is not an ordinary book business. there was always a welcome here. a place to search and have a light lunch with tea, coffee or other drinks. the whole eating is now gluten-free, which brings an even greater experience for those who are gluten intolerance. I myself am not, but the quality is so good that they can fight to know that its gluten-free . that is a real place of peace.

Shoemaker's coffee shop serves a range of drinks and gluten-free cakes plus one or two simple lunchtime dishes like soup and a roll. It's a small place partly staffed by volunteers and has a friendly community feel to it. There's a Christian bookshop beyond the cafe area, but there's nothing in-your-face about the place if you've no interest in such things. Oh, it closes at 4 p.m. on weekdays and 5 p.m. on Saturdays.

We had the room out the back for a friends birthday meal. The service was awful, we didn’t get our food for over 2 hours and no one came in to check how we were getting on. When the food arrived it was dry, cold and not very nice. Also, a dish we had ordered never came out and someone had to eat something they never ordered. We’ve heard great things so I was excited to see what the buzz was about but I was very disappointed. We were a group of 16 and even pre ordered.
