A delightful lunch at the gasthof of Stift Heiligenkreuz! Everything about it was relaxing and the food was delicious. My hisband had a delicious wild meat salad and I had the best schnitzel of our entire trip.

This is a great place if you drive around the Vienna Woods it's a good location for stopping between a few villages you can enjoy a nice dinner or a great snack they have good service and very very very good wine

Eating at Heiligenkreuzer Klostergasthof is like being in nature and in the midst of a 12 century monastery, and you are. The food is good, the waiters are very friendly and the experience is great. Highly recommended and worth a stop!

We enjoyed the typical Austrian lunch. Though it is predominantly non-vegetarian restaurant but offers some vegetarian dishes too. The service though bit slow was good. Portions served are good. Food was fresh and tasty.It is not a budget restaurant. The restaurant is nicely decorated and well maintained.

We came for a quick lunch. Pumpkin soup, wild sausage with sauerkraut and potatoes and apple strudel. Soup and dessert were average but the main was out of this earth. It was perfect! Absolutely delicious and big portion for 8,50. And the food was served super fast. Like couple of minutes after ordering it.

And I didn't regret my decision.The ambient of an old monastery and typical Austrian gasthof was interesting.The service was fast and the staff friendly and helpful.I had a soup (3.80 euros,) a Wildragout, bore and elk (10.30 euro) andd a small beer (3.40 euros.) The soup was fine. The ragout with fine cuts of meat and not only the cut off corners from steaks and spiced and prepared right for the palate. I've eaten at this restaurant dozens of times over the years, most recently two days ago. I generally walk to this location as parking in the stift is limited, but it is never difficult to find a place when I drive. One may also park in the village and walk inside the walls of the stift if the weather is pleasant.The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The garden seating is preferred when the weather cooperates. There are dozens of tables so seating is plentiful and shade is provided by large, aged trees, as well as table umbrellas.
