"madame and I drove a long time ago at a cool, sunny beginning julisonntag to Heiligenkreuz, where we took time to enjoy a little landscape and with the aim of a pleasant lunch. St. Cross has not disappointed. we sat in the open in a court of a venerable old monastery, accompanied (do not try surprising, on a Sunday) by dozens of priests at nearby tables. trout on the blue trout were on our head, and fortunately they were also on the menu. We started with salates, then ordered wein and trout. the trout were held in a fountain in the middle of the court, about fifteen feet or so by our table. Whenever they were ordered, which was very often on this special day, a young woman from the kitchen staff would use an aluminum sheet between the center of the fountain and the outside wall and then professionally use a net to capture as many as she needed. they were really living crumbs that led to the entertainment: at one point while we enjoy our trout, the young woman came in net two or three more. they managed to knock out the net and along the floor and led three kitchen staff to a cheerful tracing while they tried to resume it. she has been around the farm, also from the kitchen people who apparently had this kind of experience before. in any case, the kitchen was great the trout, served quite together with petersilienkartoffeln, was delicious. when I was a child, I remember that priests cerced to my neck by offering a blessing against the choke on fish bone; in the event that it was not necessary at all, but if the situation had occurred, I think that the three dozen or so priests near would have covered us well. the wee went down well. a dessert from ice and the dinge brought to a good conclusion. the prices were better than moderate, and the atmosphere was difficult to surpass. the service was also very good when something too fast at the beginning, although I believe that they knew that the priests were on the way and tried to keep the dinge in the timetable. many parking spaces are available in the block walls, directly at the entrance to the restaurant. when we paid cash, I don't know which cards could be accepted or not, although I guess the big ones would probably work. overall it was an unforgettable lunch and experience. for the historically inclined place mayerling, only 5k of holy cross, where an 1889 mord himself murdered with the crown prince of Austria and his Baroness lover occurred; the events proved to be decisive for the long decline of the Austro-Hungarian rich. even if the history of the habsburgs is not their fishing vessel, they enjoy the easy journey to holy cross, it is about 20 minutes west of gumpoldskirchen, or just over half an hour west of the central but over the a21."
