"Whilst visiting the area, wanted to go out for a good evening meal. We were advised by someone working in St Austell 's Brewery, that Lanivet Inn aka Panda serves good food and local beers. Booked a table for 7pm (good that we did, as it was quite full). We were greeted by friendly bar staff and soon showed us to our table. Food was more than just a pub food.. ordered 3x starters for two of us and a mix grill to share. Food was exeptionally good and portions were more than decent! Lamb chop and steak were done to perfection and were soft with no chewy or tough bits.. Even the chips were done perfectly, to be honest! Service was great and staff are really friendly! Pub itself has a fair bit of history to it as well as why it 's known as Panda . If I 'll ever go that way, I 'd definitely eat there again!"

"The Indian food at Viraj is absolutely delicious. The curry is especially delightful. I can never find fault with Viraj, as it always provides a great dining experience. The service is excellent, and the atmosphere is top-notch. I highly recommend trying dishes like Chicken Chum Chum, curry, pilau rice, and bhaji. The price per person is around £20–30 for dinner. Overall, I give the food, service, and atmosphere all a rating of 5 out of 5."

"Great find in the centre of Bodmin, food was delicious, smart but not fussy, nice atmosphere and decor, very reasonable price for such great fare. We will be back. Vegetarian options: I am vegan and had to ask to see what was available. Plenty was available with modest modification of the dish so no worries there. If you were vegetarian the choice would be wider still. "Visited Oct 2023. Under new Management/Ownership. Very enthusiastic and friendly staff, pleased to discuss dietary requirements (Lactose allergic). Very helpful with helping Menu choices I had the large Haddock cooked to order and chips, my Partner chose Chicken and chips. Fish and chips scored 9/10, fresh, tasty and delicious! Sadly the chicken was *very* overcooked. Had we had more time it would have been sent back, but we were already late for an event a long way out of area. Dietary restrictions: Staff very aware of various dietary requirements."

"We made a reservation for a table for two at this restaurant for a birthday meal. I had recommended the Inn before, as our previous experiences had been good, but unfortunately, this visit was not up to par. When we arrived, the restaurant was almost empty, with only one other table occupied. We were seated at the back, away from the main part of the pub, which limited our interaction with the atmosphere. Both of us had initially ordered fish for our main course, but were told that it was not available. We tried to choose different dishes, but were informed that this was not possible. My friend, who is a vegetarian, was really looking forward to the fish dish, so he eventually settled for the cod loin from the Christmas menu. However, it turned out to be disappointingly dry and lacking the expected butter sauce. My own main course was passable, but nothing remarkable. Even the prawn starter seemed overcooked and burnt. The lack of atmosphere and feeling out of place further added to our disappointment."
