"During my first visit to Taxidi in Edinburgh, I must say I was thoroughly impressed. From the start, the warm and friendly Greek hospitality created an enjoyable atmosphere for the evening. The owner, who hails from Thessaloniki in northern Greece, explained that his menu is inspired by this region. He recommended a selection of appetizers, as well as the specials, which included a Tomahawk steak and some lamb kebabs. Both were absolutely delicious—so tender and juicy! If you enjoy Greek cuisine, I highly recommend giving Taxidi a try. Just a word of caution: it’s wise to make a reservation in advance, as the restaurant is quite small and you don’t want to be disappointed by not having a table available. Kudos to the team at Taxidi!"

Amazing food and great service. The meat is tender and flavoursome. The bread soaked with meat juice and yogurt is the best. Definitely one of the best Greek restaurants I’ve ever been

Some of the best Greek food I’ve had in a long time. Fresh ingredients, fluffy warm pita, and an outrageously good moussaka. Cash only, and would recommend calling to make a reservation

The food is amazing, and there's a lot of choice on the menu. Wine list excellent. Really nice cozy and intimate atmosphere. The staff were super helpful and nice. Cash only is only drawback.

The food was nice. Unfortunately, we were a little greedy. The waiter was very happy to help (although he sometimes looked at something). The food was nice. Would definitely recommend. we chose the Sharing plate. Three adults ate that.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The quality of the food is excellent, particularly the hit plate, which is meant to serve two people but could easily fill three. The staff is very friendly, and the atmosphere has a charming local Greek vibe. Plus, the desserts are absolutely fantastic!

This place does the best Greek food you can dream of, I’m so glad to have finally found a restaurant that does authentic Greek cuisine even better than in Greece. Both my partner and I were very impressed by our dishes, so tasty and flavourful. I can’t wait to be back the next time we are in Edinburgh!!! Aw and they let us bring our dog along too

Once again, an outstanding experience! The Greek salad, saganaki ladotyri, and especially the Vouno were incredible. I highly recommend the loukoumades for dessert! The owner is not only lovely but goes above and beyond to ensure you have a wonderful time. The rest of the staff is fantastic as well—no complaints here, just happy smiles all around!

Loved this Greek Bistro, food was amazing and cooked with passion, the flavours were bang on and would recommend anyone to visit if your craving some good traditional Greek food, the service was very attentive and the host was very welcoming and friendly throughout, one I will say is due to Covid and the windows being open we made the mistake of turning up with the correct clothing, it is a bit cold as the evening comes in but it didn't spoil what was a really enjoyable evening with some top notch food

The pita pita (the grilled chicken) is perhaps the best chicken breast dish I’ve ever had in restaurants: the chicken is slightly charred and chewy on the outside, but tender inside. Well-seasoned—marinated? The pita bread is also grilled to perfection, with a tinge of salt and spice. The squid is very fresh and tasty, a rarity in all case. The only issue I have with the whole meal is that the fava coming with the squid is very salty—so much so that three glasses of water can barely help me cope with it.

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
